Abbey Road's 50th anniversary is next year. If they're planning a deluxe anything for it, what could be on it?

There isn't really a needed mono mix.

Outakes are few and many were on Anthology.

Short of reinserting Her Majesty into the medley what's out there that would be compelling?

I really dont know about bonus stuff, but I would look forward to seeing what might be done with a remix and remaster. Interesting.

I think it’s hard to talk about Abbey Road boxes without reckoning with Let It Be, considering several Abbey Road songs were begun during those sessions. And how to approach Let It Be is still very unclear.

Based on the Pepper & WA deluxe...I assume a four disc set.
    1) new stereo remix
    2 & 3) sessions
    4) Blue Ray - 5.1, etc

    Preordered

It better include the 52 minute out-take of Her Majesty!

What can we expect? At least something. :)

In all seriousness, I'm not sure. Maybe some isolated tracks or instrumental tracks of all the songs (primarily those that resulted in the segued medley) might be nice. I know many don't like that kind of thing on "bonus discs" but there is some beautiful and lush music on the record! Vocals aside.

I'd even take 45 minutes of George fooling around on the Moog. Especially if he falls into anything resembling the break in "Here Comes The Sun". :D

In terms of bonus audio, I agree that there appears to be few outtakes available.
Maybe they will package those together (including reissuing the Anthology takes), and put a few rehearsal takes of Abbey Road songs from the Let It Be sessions. If there are no plans to do something for Let It Be (they would probably argue that it would be overkill given that they released Naked, with that wonderful (not) additional disk The Fly on the Wall), then a comprehensive CD of the rooftop session would be a good bonus.

What are we likely to get? A "deluxe" Abbey Road package with:
    - a remastered/brickwalled Abbey Road CD.
    -
packaging extras: a postcard with the Abbey Road sign, a plastic fold-out zebra crossing and a cardboard cutout of Maxwell's silver hammer (with a warning that it's not to be used on living creatures).
    - an LP package with the album as a picture disk, a 7" of Something/Come Together, and a 289-piece jigsaw puzzle of the front cover. Plus four postcards with outtake photos from the cover photo shoot.
Apple will also release, via their website, an "Abbey Road" board game, pens, mugs, and mice-mats. All with the official The Beatles and Apple logos on them.

These items will of course be sold for three-times what would be considered an appropriate amount, and they will try to make us feel grateful for being so generous to us.

Why would we be likely to get that stuff? Based on only the 2 deluxe sets so far, Apple has stuck to giving us lots of audio content, many never before released and in superior sound. They have avoided padding out these sets with unnecessary knick knacks that some artists include in these pricey boxes, so not sure why they would start now. I apologize in advance if your post was a joke, don't want to come off hostile, so I'm not having a go or anything but personally I have been happy with the Apple releases the last few years, despite what one thinks of the remixes, (I enjoyed Pepper) the bonus content has been generous and would love for it to continue with ALL the albums!

Having said all that, we at least can expect the extended solo version of Here Comes the Sun to be included, as well as the Something that morphs into a jam.

I think a "Love" style mash-up might be in order:
    "She Came in/Mr. Mustard"
    "Maxwell's Silver Slumbers"
    "She's So Heavy/Carry That Weight"
and the instant classic "Sun Thing/Some King".

I'll take a combination of 25 run throughs of Maxwell's Silver Hammer with a side of Ringo's isolated vocal tracks of Octopus' Garden thanks !

Is there longer versions of Golden Slumbers, You Never Give me Your Money or any of the other medley songs ?

    That would be great
