    Album Remasters and Rare Tracks

Kate will release remastered versions of her album catalogue on vinyl and CD in November. This is the first (and definitive) programme of remastering and includes the release of many rarities and cover versions on vinyl and CD for the first time. Pre-order available from 2pm on 4th October.

The vinyl albums – all Kate’s studio work – will be released in 4 separate boxes, the first two on November 16 and the latter two on November 30. The CD boxes will be staggered on the same dates. The live album ‘Before The Dawn’ is included in CD Box 2 in its original mastered form.

The albums, many of which have been unavailable on vinyl for a decade, have been remastered by Kate and James Guthrie. Kate’s 10 studio albums are spread over 3 vinyl boxes, whilst the 4th box contains many rarities previously unavailable on vinyl, including a whole disc of cover versions. The total number of vinyl discs is 18.

This is fantastic news....also a little horrendous given the number of other releases at the same time......and then there's price.....not a lot of time between dates....which makes you wonder why bother staggering them......one now and one in the new year may have been better.

    but the do look beautiful...

Goddamn it. I was waiting for this info for years and it appeared just one week after I'd lost patience and bought This Woman's Work Anthology box on original CD's in jewel cases.

Wonder how expensive the vinyl boxes will be.

Vinyl Boxes 1 and 4 shall be mine!!!

The CD boxes have cool new cover art, but the vinyl boxes don't...I wonder why?

Vinyl boxes 2 and 4 are extreeeeemely tempting...anyone know if this version of 'Brazil' has vocals? If it's included here, it should - in theory - feature Kate's vocals...

Wonder if The Sensual World and The Red Shoes will be presented in their "The Director's Cut" mixes. Way better than originals IMHO.

Wow. This is a surprise. Be interesting to see what the CD mastering is like because her first 5 albums (at least) sound great. In fact, I’m not sure if they could be improved upon... Still, if they sound bad we can officially blame Kate.:D

Are there any pictures of these? Google is drawing a blank for me.

    :pineapple::goodie::love:
Do the the CDs in the 2nd CD Set contain every Song that was in the 2 Bonus CDs in 'This Woman's Work'? I did not do a direct comparison yet. Glad I held off buying that Box Set just to get the 2 Bonus CDs.

There goes my 'Dreaming' of a Steven Wilson Remix Project of her Albums in the Deluxe Book Box Sets with 5.1 and Booklets like he is doing for Jethro Tull. Oh well, I will hold out hope that he does this type of project for Peter Gabriel.

I think most of her CDs on Parlophone and Fish People Labels sound fine to me, and I own a Japan Black Triangle CD for 'Hounds of Love', so not sure the Remasters of the Studio Albums on CD will be much better, but will buy the 2nd CD Set for all of the Bonus Songs.

I am interested in most of the Albums on Vinyl, except own the SH/KG Vinyl Remastered 'Hounds of Love' and 'A Sensual World' so have no interest in buying those 2 Titles on Vinyl.

Looks like those Rare Vinyl Copies of 'Aerial' that are selling for an extreme high price($250 and Higher) on Discogs & Ebay just lost their value(but who pays that much for 1 Vinyl Album anyways?).

What will be the difference in Mastering and SQ for 'Before the Dawn'? Will the Heavy Bass Sound be reduced?

A Blu-Ray for 'Before The Dawn' would have been the one thing to have made these Reissues even better news.

Outside of The Doors -'Waiting for the Sun', you can have those Box Sets of 1968 and other Older Albums/Music Artists(Beatles, Lennon, Hendrix, Dylan, Rolling Stones, etc., well I do love The Kinks 'The Kinks are the Preservation Society', but the price on that Deluxe Box Set is too high for me to buy it, as own the 3 CD Set).

My money is going to Kate Bush, the Steven Wilson BluRay & CD Set for his To the Bone Tour at RAH, The Lindsey Buckingham 3 CD Box Set, eventually the Tom Petty Box Set(just not urgent for now) and if I can convince myself to like some of the later 1980s Bowie Albums including the Live Albums, maybe his 'LTA' Box Set(CD). I bought the prior Bowie Box Sets, and his 1993-2016 is one of my favorite Bowie Periods after 'Station to Station through 'Let's Dance(6 Albums, although were spread out among 3 of these Box Sets).

It appears initially that at least 'Ken' is missing..

I don't think they have touched Before The Dawn mastering as it is so recent..

I doubt it - the CD of HOL Kate released on her own label only contained the single version. Does she even have the rights to the original version? Besides, maybe she likes the single version better - I don't know, I love any version of this fantastic song.

At last! Shame the vinyl for Red Shoes and Ariel aren't in the same box but even so I'm in for boxes 2-4, may pick up the first depending on price.
