What's the longest you had to wait for a master tape on a reissue project?

I did one for Rhino back in 1988 that used the correct tapes.

Not sure how many of my AJA were made. I think 5,000 US. After that, no idea!

WHO's NEXT? Canadian is fine, there is a "modern" JPN disc that's supposed to be great..

    Jethro Tull AQUALUNG.

We waited seven years. Ian Anderson called me in the middle of the night and told me the tapes were coming, finally. They arrived in a beat up box from the UK. A long wait.

Please name three of your favorite masterings of albums many may not be aware of.

I'd have to really think about it. Can't do it off the top of my head. Isn't there a thread here about my mastering choices for a bunch of disks?

Nah, you're reading too much into it. I think the channels were reversed by accident during the first mastering and that's how it remained.

Probably a couple of threads. I guess I meant less known albums. Classical, jazz, blues etc..kind of out of the rock era.

Hi Steve. Thanks for taking these questions. Is there a project that you've done that you wish you had another crack at because you think you could do it better today than you did originally?

A few that shall be nameless but for the most part, no. One or two compilations because better masters were uncovered.

Just to be clear, I have a lot of your masterings, and I love them all. I wasn't suggesting that i thought any of them needed work.

    I'll take this.

Just played my Apple label pressing and it's a different mix; the cowbell comes in earlier than the stereo mix on Past Masters.

Hi Steve! If you had to recommend one stereo amp or brand to buy, vintage or not and regardless of price, what would you recommend?

I need to replace mine and I appreciated hearing you say high prices don’t equal better sound! (I have 4 ohm inefficient speakers if that matters).
