I would have to say that most Elvis fans have been pretty thrilled with Vic Anesini's remastering of Sony Legacy's RCA's Complete Albums Collection for Elvis Presley. I wish I could say the same thing about Mr. Sinatra's great catalogue, but other than some decent work on occasion from Larry Walsh, I wish to God they would let our fantastic host and thread starter, @Steve Hoffman, take a crack at the Chairman's fantastic library!

Try the original CD issue of Nat Cole LOVE IS THE THING on Capitol. Yikes. The sound of that thing inspired me to try and do a DCC Gold CD/Vinyl version using a better source tape.

Please note that this comp does not have the complete songs from Vol. 1 on there. That was a legal requirement as Rhino had the rights.

I have a signed copy of Joni's Court & Spark. I wish I could report on her reaction to the sound, but I can't.
I can tell you she was thrilled with the faithfulness of the CD artwork, being true to the original.
Thanks for this site, it means a lot to all
    of us.
For myself, it's the closest I can find to walking into a great record store and finding like-minded folks to talk music.

Don't forget Steve has done Elvis and Frank standalone albums, which are audio treasures.

Which is unfortunate in many cases.
Still, this is a great forum overall!

Thanks Steve. Love that original Wilbury volume 1 CD. I bought mine in a used shop back when it was still OOP and love it. Better sounding than the remasters for sure. When I was in the UK last month, I managed to find an original UK vinyl pressing that also sounds pretty good.

Our host's remastering on both of Elvis's Gold Discs are fantastic. I love the additional false start that was included on the Elvis Is Back Gold DCC.

That's why I said that the DCC is a "best of" the Modern Sounds In Country and Western Music albums

Of all the artists you have worked with, who was the most genuine, down-to-earth and approachable one?

Similarly who was the one that seemed the most distant? i.e. was in the same room, but really never interacted with you directly and preferred to have a go-between to relay all information, even if in the same room/meeting.

Steve, I hope that Capitol will let you do some work on the Joe South catalog for some audiophile label but since the original stereo mixes are so out of phase, remixing would be better and the audiophile label should include as many mono single versions as possible

Hi Steve, have you heard any Hendrix 1st generation master tapes, if so how did they sound?

Never had the "distant" experience. Always genuine interest.

Most easy to talk to? Mick Fleetwood.

If you were burning your own audio demo CD, what would you include on it?
