Does anyone agree that chord structure wise, The Stones borrowed from the middle of For No One for the middle of Backstreet Girl?

Didn't Ringo say something to the effect of "children are born knowing how to sing Yellow Submarine"? That song is pure genius and will probably be the equivalent of Mary Had a Little Lamb in 50 years, if it isn't already.

All I've read is that he doesn't like the album.

Voted for Eleanor Rigby. Wonderful, beautiful, melancholic song with a grogeous arrangement. Could have voted also for Tomorrow Never Knows or For No One, all three among the best work they ever did.

Not all of us follow everything that Pete Townshend says (I presume that's who you mean). Which is his favourite?

And Your Bird Can Sing check my profile page. Great John vocal, the harmonies are spot on and that guitar riff from start to finish is unreal. Also the opening song for The Cartoon Beatles 1966 season. What more could you ask for?

Yet JL was dismissive of that song. Maybe the lyrics weren't surreal enough.

Ah he didn't like Eight Days A Week either. What does he know. He was just a singer in a rock n roll band.

He was very dismissive of the Imagine album as well. He was only happy when he was ticking people off. From wiki

Lennon would later express his displeasure with the more commercial sound of the album, even going so far as to say that the title track was "an anti-religious, anti-nationalistic, anti-conventional, anti-capitalistic song, but because it's sugar-coated, it's accepted.

And Your Bird Can Sing and it's also the best song on Yesterday and Today.
Best song on the U.S. Revolver would be Here There and Everywhere which makes it second best on the original UK.

He was dismissive of a lot of his and other Beatles songs. You could make a list. A few that come to mind are
    Cry Baby Cry
    Dig a Pony
    Maxwell's Silver Hammer
Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite (although in an interview in '80 he gave it considerable praise)
    Good Morning Good Morning

    ...everything other than Strawberry Fields.

A relative newby around here so I'm very surprised at Tomorrow Never Knows being the 'favourite'. I can understand arguments for the most original, important, seminal etc but not something I find myself singing to or skipping to (on the CD player :) ).
I went for Got To Get You Into My Life (have always loved its energy and tune) but certainly plenty of great contenders.

Yes I'm surprised it's liked more than other songs on Revolver. Tomorrow Never Knows always seemed similar to me in tone and style to She Said She Said, but I think She Said She Said is the more interesting song.

Honestly don't understand the praise for AYBCS. I think it's the song that least shows the innovation and newfound sounds of the album and is the only thing that sounds like it possibly could've been on Rubber Soul. Great song but doesn't have the impact for any of the others besides Doctor Robert in my opinion. Still, I don't want to spoil the party, I'm happy you all can enjoy it so much!

Interesting. I don't think they're even remotely similar in any way.
