The other day, I found the complete series online and downloaded it to my computer. It's from the DVDs and not from TV.

Honestly, who has that much time? But surely.....ads are shown if they are shown on TV. With the more current shows, not as much. But older shows....the ones that ran 25 or more minutes, they are sliced and diced to death. M*A*S*H comes to mind. In some episodes, full scenes were snipped out. AND......the more times the episodes are shown, they have a cut somewhere else. Sad part is....some shows that came out on DVD had syndicated versions part of the set, even some with watermarks!! In that case, Rocky And Bullwinkle. Syndicated...until the Mr. Ed box came out, the first season had numerous episodes with syndicated versions.

I was watching the Season 1 episode where Jill and Tim invited a magician over to babysit the boys and like how the boys ended up trapping him in the trunk.

There have been many threads covering syndicated vs. actual broadcast episodes on DVD's. Whenever the company puts this out, two things come to mind...either they think we're stupid and don't remember the original episodes, or the ACTUAL broadcast episode was either damaged beyond repair or lost. Dark Shadows had one episode that is lost....the kinescope was too far gone. So they did a voice episode with images. But considering this Soap was from the late 1966-71, it is amazing all the remaining episodes(1224) survived in either kinescope or the film version.

They did that on episodes of Newhart. Fortunately Shout Factory released the full versions.
