Has anyone here bought these "ROLLING STONES THEIR SATANIC MAJESTIES REQUEST 3D COVER MINI LP CD OBI" that are from the sellers for the first three eBay listings in the link below?

They are not listed as "Japan" issues and evidentaly there are Russian counterfeits of these going around according to Discogs. I'm assuming these are fake but I may be wrong? They look so real. I just wanted to know if anyone here has purchased any of these and are able to tell if they are fake or not? What was the original retail price for these when they first came out in Japan in 2006? Any info would be helpful. If you want to remain anonymous in this thread then just send me a pm with any info you have and I will let you remain anonymous. Otherwise just reply in this thread if you feel to do so. Thanks.

The ones on eBay look legit as does the first one on Discogs. The other 2 clearly say made in Russia and I bet they are the forgeries.

If the ones listed on eBay are supposedly the real deal, than why are they so cheap? Other sellers from overseas are selling them for a lot more money. I contacted some sellers and only got one response from the four or five sellers I contacted and the seller said he can not open any to check them for any specifics but he said they were obtained in Europe. What did these retail for when they came out in Japan back on 2006?

Hmm, you have a point. I guess you pretty much have to take the risk if no one else has purchased any to find out a definite way of spotting the fakes. Sorry, they do look cool though.

Yeah, they do look nice. I'm sure the counterfeits look nice as well with the technology these days.

You're not kidding. Short of having a fake in your hands there's a lot of room for error.

The exchange rate in the last quarter of 2006 was around 118 Yen/Dollar so retail was around $20.57 (for the Satanic cd) The catalog number was for the non-SHM version.
The SHM version came out in 2008 and again in June of 2009. The '09 release has a UICY-93793 catalog number. It also has a obi with "SHM CD" at the top.
It's a crap-shoot as to whether the cheap version listed is a counterfeit or not.
