In the RS interview from yesterday Lindsey stated he tried to reach out more than once and got no reply.

Lindsey Buckingham: Life After Fleetwood Mac – Rolling Stone

Sounds pretty petty "foolish" on their end as well.

While none of us know exactly what was said, what is true, etc. on thing I can say is that the new FM lineup is well.... just awkward and not great.

At least musically speaking, I am Team LB on this one. His presence both vocally and guitar wise are very much missed.

Read the entire article and the earlier interview in RS- Buckingham tried communicating with members of the band directly months ago about the dismissal, and they would not return his emails. They didn’t just fire him, they cut him off completely.

I wouldn’t walk across the street to see this band now.

IMO this is a metaphoric upraised middle finger to the others by Lindsey and an attempt to keep his name prominent while he's on his solo tour.

I doubt Azoff let this tour proceed without having the legalities nailed down.

I know he's pissed off, but I don't see how there's a contractual obligation that the other members have to respond to his personal letters or emails, and as I said earlier on one of these threads, in the long run when he gets over his pissed off ness he'll realize that he'll be happier and more musically fulfilled away from that toxic environment.

This group has been, for two generations, Toxic Environment 101.

And I seriously doubt any of these folks ... Lindsey, Stevie, Mick, John or Christine ... are jewels to deal with. Rock stars are notoriously narcissistic, selfish and entitled.

Sounds wonky as hell from everything I've heard.

    To each their own though.

For me: They sound like they are going through the motions. No magic whatsoever. Making good on a paycheck. There's no excitement to it aurally or visually.

Irving Azoff breached his fiduciary duty to Buckingham by not making it clear that some of his clients (the rest of the band) were firing his other client, Lindsey. Azoff is the one that Lunksey should be suing.

He had plans in place and they are touring right over his ass. He's doing the smart thing.

Even a divorce is a business transaction and I'm glad he is still looking out for his interests wherever they may exist.

Maybe he has no interests here...but when you are a company of this size... you have to deal with the legalities and call in the professionals to hash it out.

But those great records would not have been the same without him.

I'd probably be doing the same thing.

Let's just not assume this is poor, put upon Lindsey standing at Armageddon and battling against the Philistines who put upon him.

Everyone in this toxic environment has always given as good as they've gotten. There are no completely clean hands over the last 43 years where this bunch is concerned.

Although Stevie and Mick should've had the guts to stand up from Day 1 and say what was going on here. Stevie should've had the guts to say, "Too much has gone down between us, I don't want to work with him anymore." And Mick should've had the guts to say "I made a business decision that Stevie will put more asses in the seats." But that assumes they're not selfish, entitled rock stars.

They had to have known a lawsuit was a distinct possibility, as there’s certainly a precedent for it (Eagles and Don Felder as a fairly recent example) so they were probably advised by their legal team not to have contact with him.

If Lindsay wins, will they dock Stevie's wages? :D

And yeah, I'm sure Azoff (rightly) figures there are more than enough people who'll plunk down a C-note plus just to watch her twirl around in front of a rusting human jukebox.

It is worth noting that Azoff also manages Van Halen and was happy put together the Hagar reunion tour in 2004 despite Eddie being an absolute trainwreck, then backing Eddie's move to tour and record with Roth while dumping Michael Anthony.

I would imagine the majority of the public couldn’t care less who is playing in those bands. They just go to hear the hits.
