And what of Bell(y) Up To The Bar Boys from The Unsinkable Molly Brown. OK I need some sleep... Obviously.
This isn’t a ‘song’, but a piece of music. In classical music, a song is something that involves a voice and, in most cases, some kind of accompaniment (usually just piano or if the composer chosen to orchestrate it, an orchestra, or arrange the song using some other kind of instrumentation).
Shall I go through the rest of the thread flagging up all the instrumentals posted or will I leave that to you?
I think you don’t know the difference between a song and a piece of music nor have you bothered to understand anything I’m actually saying about classical music terminology. John Cage and Morton Feldman were classical composers. Both belonged to the late 20th Century American avant-garde music scene along with La Monte Young, Harry Partch, Christian Wolff, among others.
