These seem to be ruining some threads about new box sets, so why don't we just create a thread to dump dirt on Amazon?

No way. Especially as some people confuse "Capitalism" with greed and avarice. Or think it's okay for a business to not pay its fair share, because "it's all above board guvnor, honest."

Not to mention enslaving workers and treating them like dirt is okay - coz CAPITALISM! As long as there are profits, no-one has to work there, right? Coz it's 2018. Jesus.....

No way this can end well.

At least we can get it out of the Bowie thread. One less reason for that thread to close.

They're a bunch of tax dodgers that are gradually destroying the retail sector.

Oh right, not those sort of complaints....:p

A $250,000 startup in 1994 selling books online out of his garage is now a diversified multi-national with annual revenue of $178 Billion (2017) and a market cap of $863 billion, isn't that the dream??

As a mere customer I have no issues with them.

Any order issues I've had have been taken care of to my satisfaction so no bashing from me.

They're the worst thing out there...except for everything else;) Seriously I have no problems with them, as PaulKTF said upthread, they've made my life easier. They bring music to my house on the day of release, I'm cool with that. :)

Never saw him with hair before. Looks like Kevin Spacey. Hey, moneybags, you're one of those guys who looks goofy with a shaved head: Big eyebrows and a chrome dome. Guess being the world's richest man still can't buy you follicles.

I’d propose that this thread can be useful for various Amazon-related issues -
However, it will be most productive, fruitful, and beneficial if the information is thorough and provides constructive direction, for useful follow-up on the main issues that are presented.

    CONS:
    Complaints
    Confusing product listings
    Incorrect product descriptions
    Problems with checking out cart
    Product shipped/received late
    Product never shipped/received
    Damaged box received
    Damaged item received
    Incorrect item received
    Unhelpful customer service representative
    Frustrating escalation of issues
    Unresolved issues
    Etc

    PROS:
    Resolved issues
    Work around solutions
    Customer service satisfaction
    Helpful customer service representative
Successful escalation of issues and concerns
    Productive customer service feedback

    Etc

Chaps, maybe it isnt the same in the US, but here in the UK Amazon, and google are seen as evil by the 'left' in politics, and consequently poster boys of the right, aka capitalism, evil etc.

The irony is particularly exemplified on a forum such as this, with the virtue signalling and bashing of 'greedy capitalists', by people who consume stuff which would make the ordinary working class Joe blush. We need a musical alternative to 'champagne socialist' I think.

And its not good enough to just satisfy their own moral stance and avoid Amazon or google (do they?) as they sup on their starbucks, oh no, they have to criticise those of us who give less of a sh!t than they think we should, for using Amazon (or google, or starbucks). Cos we are uncaring, greedy capitalists innit.

When will the left realise that when they attempt to paint things and people so black and white, good and evil, they fuel populist politics at both ends of the political spectrum, create divisions in society and in the meantime Amazon and google and starbucks carry on regardless?

It is simple, YOU don't like Amazon, don't use them. Regardless of whether that's because they are evil, crap on deliveries, or remind you of women with big thighs. Leave out the low grade "education" of the rest of us, the preaching, the sanctimony etc. Not least because it doesn't work, at least in affecting Amazon's bottom line, or treatment of tea ladies or whatever, obviously it works in boosting your sense of your own moral superiority.

As a footnote, on a BBC daily politics show this lunchtime they had some 'socialist' on who has written a book about how terrible Amazon are. Hold the applause you Amazon haterz, because it turns out he is selling it on Amazon! Couldn't make it up. His excuse was something like there is no choice these days; erm my principled friend you will find there is, but not if you want to make lots and lots of money. QED.

Oh, and likening working for Amazon as being a "slave" to them isn't very woke is it... someone wont be getting their 'woke' badge to sew on their socialist blanket..

    I'll show myself out. :)

I've very rarely had any issues with Amazon but when I have, they've resolved them very quickly and very much to my satisfaction. They have terrific customer service from my experience.

Amazon has a tough but successful business model - your choice to deal or not

They have Geo blocked us here in Oz

Their local offering is inadequate and we can't access any other one.

That sucks. They can get stuffed.

So I bought a vinyl record on amazon. They sent me the wrong item (completely different record/band from what I had ordered). Now there's an option for "wrong item was sent", but at the end of the return process, it tells me to return the item I don't have. WTF? Besides that, how do they know I'm not lying and trying to get rid of something I don't want?

Bender Rodriguez RIP Exene, best dog ever. 2005-2016

They failed to even attempt to deliver my paciage today. I was standing at the door waiting. She never even got out of the van. I received notification that the building was unaccessable and she drove away. Amazon Logistics sucks.

  24. Amazon is what happens when one company thoroughly dominates the entire retail industry with few viable competitors. They've become an unchecked, aggressive monopoly.

Eventually the Federal government will step in after Amazon has already transformed retail and break them up into at least two companies. They've been using their insanely profitable Web Services division to float their online shopping business, which until recently had never turned a profit.

Amazon has been dropping the ball on many of my orders lately. I understand it's peak Christmas shipping season, but I still expect to get the right package on a second attempt.

Short story short, I ordered Stone Temple Pilots' "Shangri-La Dee Da" Music On Vinyl LP when it dropped down to $19 last week and TWICE they sent me the wrong LP. The lady on the phone said she didn't expect the third attempt to be any more successful so she let me keep the record I got by mistake ("Passion and Warfare" by Steve Vai) along with a refund. Nice gesture, I guess, but man I really wanted that STP. :realmad: Now I gotta find out which of my friends wants to trade for this crappy Steve Vai record.
