Love the movie. Might be my wife's favorite flick.

Always thought the most attractive lady in the film was Lee Purcell.

Her in pantyhose lounging around doing her Mrs. Robinson. Forget the daughter.

Btw she has aged quite nicely. Like insanely well!

A disarming, funny, tender film that probably should have been anything but. Martha Coolidge and the cast get the credit for that.

And it's hard to blame Foreman for wanting to keep her distance and not dwell on the past. Life goes on.

Well he got the daughter, but seriously "when the time is right"...can't get more blatant then that.

There was that brief moment in the movie where it looked like she and her daughter’s bf were about to be caught together...

The movie was a great 80s teen movie; I don’t see it as a “sex comedy.” I’m glad they didn’t cast someone with conventional good-looks as Julie’s love interest. Nicolas Cage made it more interesting.

Being a young teen in rural Texas at the time, I think it was the first time I’d ever heard of sushi.

I am glad someone else gets mad like I do. :realmad:

    What a waste.

First time I heard about sushi as well.

While it does have a different focus there is still three scenes of sex with a nice bit of nudity in each one (note ex-girlfriend of Randy is the one on the cover to my eyes. Must have been a casting thing that got changed after poster art went out).

Got questions. Anybody got a list of chronological order of when songs were played in movie?

I read Zero Hour was a deleted ar scene??

Is Rock the Casbah in the current movie?

What about the background music while they are making out in car?

Lastly what about the identity of all songs cut and where were did they occur?

I saw her one-woman show in Los Angeles in 2005. She was fantastic, though the story of her boyfriend's death was tragic.

There's a blurb that indicates that all the songs from the original movie are on the Blu-Ray, if that helps.

Hahaha! I thought me and my friends were the only ones that talked about that. That dude hesitated at the moment of truth (well, only for the mom), but still...she was HOT.

I know but I have Valley Girl Soundtrack fever and going to make a bluray audio (though upscaled) before it comes out.

    Great minds think alike.

The scene still hurts and bring back bad memories of my missed opportunities. :realmad:

In my opinion the only way the movie could be improved is if Skip finally got with her and the surprise was the other way around.

When I think of "Lyle" introduction at the beginning I still laugh my ass off.

  18. Saw this movie about 20 times when it came out back in '83. Me & my Grade 12 buddies loved it. Used to sit in the back row of the theater, chug beers, smoke reefer & recite the dialog. How we didn't end up in jail is beyond me...

I always loved this part. And it is one of the millions of reasons I still come back to this classic movie.

"It's what you are that counts, it's what's inside you, what you stand for, not what other people want to make you"

"There are lots of people out there who ain't happy unless you live and think the same way they do...and if you don't...(knife across throat gesture)"

  20. Frederic Forest looking like Sonny Bono. I sure loved him in Apocalypse Now "never get out of the boat.... a ****ing tiger, man " Coppola sure tried to make him a star and got him in the Coppola produced/Wim Wenders directed Zoetrope debacle of Hammett

Where is my bluray consarnit! Slow shipping and def not two weeks in advance. As long as there is poster I will at least not have to ...kill the Nick Cage Teddy Bear.

    Sorry to hear that.
Meanwhile in Michigan... mine will be at my record shop in tomorrow's shipment 6 days before release date. Ordered through our regular distributor, not Shout.
Sorry for rubbing it in. :D;)

Yeah, I wasn't too worried about having a poster.

I assume the poster is of the new cover art?

I'm hoping, as with all other Shout Select titles, that the reversible packaging art is of the original one sheet. I can't wait to flip that sucker around!

I hear ya and agree. Hopefully poster is also reversable. So not bragging yet. :D

That cover is terrible... rarely is new-art better. Last American Virgin Arrow was to me. Rare exception.
