That has my interest, a great period for Neil. I liked that Kurt Vile tune on the next page.

Lovely. But if it’s a double, how about acoustic and electric...as long as electric was represented in the tapes.

News broke on Neil's Archives site this week that he will release a new album called Songs For Judy in November, 2018. Some fans will already be familiar with this material as the Bernstein Tapes, recordings of the 1976 tour by his longtime photographer Joel Bernstein, but the sound quality is much improved from the version that has circulated for years (see next post).

Neil's long time album cover designer, Gary Burden, died earlier this year and this cover, well, I'm curious who did this one as it definitely has a different feel.

"Campaigner" has been put out there on Neil's youtube page as a preview and it sounds great.

It's like the next "Archives" set(s) are in fact coming out one volume at a time.

I like these vintage concert sets with nice sound quality.

  13. The electric recording from this tour is the Odeon/Budokan album that will be part of Archives Vol 2.

  14. Now this is one I'm really looking forward to. We've had tons of acoustic recordings from the early years, but this one looks much more interesting. It would make a nice companion to Odeon/Budokan once that eventually gets released.

There are so many recordings of acoustic Neil (official and otherwise) now that I feel that is has been well covered. I can't see myself buying yet another.

Exactly. Way too many solo shows released in recent years.

This one's different, though. '76 tour:righton: And it's called "Songs For Judy" because at one of the shows -Atlanta, if memory serves- Neil was so out of it he started conversing with the ghost of Judy Garland in between songs:laugh: A couple of days later, still partying on, Neil appeared at some wingding in San Fran called The Last Waltz...don't forget to wipe yer nose, Neil:laugh:

I agree with the above (and I would have preferred a Crazy Horse show as the next release instead) but on the other hand, at least this is from the 70s as opposed to yet another late 60s/early 70s show. There's some great tracks here that are otherwise unavailable (officially) in acoustic versions.
