And those people who prefer the original cover of the album might swap the records if they buy both 2-LP sets.^^

Probably by 5pm UK time today. Clearly the announcement was intended to be yesterday, considering the albums began appearing in webstores and streaming services, so they’ve shot themselves in the foot in that regard, so it can’t really be delayed any longer.

Nope and clearly there is no UK store that is prepared to put it up until it as been.

In Canada, Paul's site sends you to MusicVaultz. They have no listing for 1971-1973.
I was hoping to order it before work. Now I have to wait until late tonight. Hopefully it will still be available.

Wow, great that you know this information - but bad news for me to have it confirmed that my rainbow tank top and I ended up on the cutting room floor (or perhaps that's precisely why it ended up on the cutting room floor).

All joking aside, still amazes me that for the sake of a bit of video tape, a professionally shot tv performance of Paul McCartney was not considered worth keeping. I guess it was discarded for the very same reason we won't be again be seeing Paul's historic performance of My Love on the UK's most popular pop music tv show, Top of the Pops in 1973?

I can fathom why so much 60's footage was lost, when the historic context of 'pop' was yet to be appreciated, but by 1973? I remember even then, there was a big hoo-ha regarding Paul's first live appearance on the programme since Paperback Writer. Why then erase the flippin' thing?

Videotape was expensive and nobody had any context for ever needing this material ever again. There were no satellite channels to repeat it on, there were no markets for secondary rebroadcasting, there was no way of selling this material to the public and monetising it, etc. I’m thinking of that 1976 footage when George Harrison is looking at the Beatles performance from 12 years earlier. There’s a whole novelty attached to the notion that he’s able to revisit it a filmed piece of footage of himself in the biggest band in the world, and yet it still had to happen in the middle of a film editing suite.

I'm not 100% convinced that the 'My Love' TOTP is lost. There is a chance that it is sat in the vault at MPL, or else was pocketed by a BBC employee.
After all, Henry threw up on the side of the stage during said TOTP performance, as he was so nervous that he drunk a bottle of brandy (Henry's words by the way, not mine.) Though they edited around Henry's misdemeanour, there's a chance that the band didn't come off well. Hence it went missing. That's one theory anyway!

They’re all on Amazon UK as TBA’s at the moment.
Prices not great. £19 for the double CDs. £36 for the double vinyl sets.
Hopefully they’ll come down in price.

Since there's one duplication in the Archive sets, 'Country Dreamer' on both Band On The Run and Red Rose Speedway, maybe the former gets some reworked Archive edition in the future?^^

And Little Woman Love is also duplicated in the Archive sets: on Ram and now on Red Rose Speedway.

Just ordered the $400 1971-1973 box. Will there ever be another time in history when "mega boxes roamed the earth" as numerous as we are experiencing now? The next couple of years should be interesting and probably a crowded playing field. I'm gonna need to win the mega millions lottery!.......lol!

I hope you're right! Interesting to hear that Henry would have been nervous to play in front of a small gathering on a tv show when four years previously, he'd played Woodstock!

But again, if it hasn't been sourced for this upcoming set, the chances of it being found seem slim.

    Thanks for the info!

    1. Amazon prices are amazing, bought both box sets, vinyls and cds
    2. You're all crazy buying the $400 box. God bless you

It is also possible that Country Dreamer COULD be a variation, differing from the already released versions. Not sure if the mix created for the projected Red Rose Speedway double album was exactly the same as the later-released B-side version.
