ACL: Kristel Sans on Instagram: “Lilu and I watching Paul McCartney rehearse for the real show at ACL. What an experience this was with my big “little” one #aclfest…” Tokyo: Taiz’love the Beatles forever’ on Twitter
Paul's team is uploading short videos of his activities in Tokyo on Instagram Stories. One them includes a few seconds of "Coming Up" with horns from the soundcheck.
Yep, nothing new except a brief “ichiban” intro to “Come on to Me”, but Paul was in good voice for the most part and the horns sounded great.
More than changing the setlist, I wish he’d ditch all the Johnny Depp video. Having to see Depp’s expressionless, wife-beating mug for the entirety of “My Valentine” is bad enough, but then “Queenie Eye” has him too. Ugh.
I understand your frustration, but we know this by now. The only moment it would be worth checking out the setlist was always at the start of every new tour every 2-3 years on average. And even that is now no longer a moment he's shaking anything up. It's not going to happen any more.
You're showing your age with this reference Ray, and I'm showing mine by understanding it. I'm guessing young pups like Ben just think.. yes, Paul COULD sell out five nights there .
He played I Don't Know at the soundcheck today again Paul, stop keeping the better for the soundcheck, seriously.
Paul McCartney on Twitter: "Want to join Paul on stage at his Liverpool show? Flights, hotel and VIP tickets are all included for you and a guest! Show your support for @MeatFreeMonday and enter here: http://bit.ly/2Ji56UF "
As someone who wants the songs at Paul's concerts to sound good, I am banning myself from entering this; no-one needs to hear me attempt to croon my way through 'Get Back'.
You can use the same technique of 'Come On To Me' Videos Speaking of 'Get Back': "Paul has teamed up with Omaze to offer one lucky fan the chance to join him on stage at his sold-out show in Liverpool — all to support Meat Free Monday. Enter to win and score 100 bonus entries with code GETBACK. Click HERE to enter! "
I’m not sure I’ve seen this in a setlist in decades - he didn’t play “Yesterday” last night in Tokyo. Possibly cut to allow a young Japanese fan to propose to his girlfriend on stage, which was a wonderful moment. I was quite shocked. [edit] checked setlists and see that he has started omitting the song this year. Oh well, it was a surprise to me.
