Interesting to compare with the Uncut lists (see below for links). Is this one better or worse in your opinion? Your favourite?

There’s lots for me to check out here. While I recognise many of the bands, I haven’t heard many of the albums. I voted for True Meanings by Paul Weller, which is the one I have heard and thoroughly enjoyed.

Seriously, is there anything utterly fantastic in there?
Every year (for the last 25 years or more), I check out the artists listed and find hardly anything that makes me go "wow! I gotta have that".
I don't think I can be bothered again.

The Kamasi album is very good. It's very long even before you explore the 'hidden' EP.

Naturally, I haven't heard everything on the list; but of those I have, I picked Spiritualized.

I despise Year End Lists of any kind. That said, I cast my vote for Ms. Musgraves Golden Hour.

Why do you despise them? Isn’t it interesting to find out what music other people enjoy? That’s one of the invaluable things about this forum, too.

What about stuff that will come out in the next month and a half? And we barely had time to assess what came out on the last couple of weeks, so basically that's two months worth of releases that are under the radar for a so-called year end list.

either Pusha or Kamasi (I picked the latter just because of the scope/breadth of it). everything else is rubbish.

    Yes. Yes, there is.

But don't worry. It's not for you.

I find it disturbing that so much music can be dismissed like this...

That's why most bands don't release anything after about mid-November.

You've been around here long enough...it's somewhat expected round these parts.

Meanwhile, there's a number of albums I haven't even heard from this list yet, so I'm bookmarking and sampling later.
Some won't stick I'm sure, but a few might. This is what streaming services are for.

Young Fathers folowed by Low for me.

Saw both put on excellent shows this year; Young Fathers at Glasgow Barrowlands may be the best gig I’ve been to in years.

A friend of mine was just this morning raving to me about the Young Fathers show she saw last week. I haven't gotten around to this album yet, but I'm intrigued.

I thought the Janelle Monae album was very disappointing. If that's the 4th 'best' album of the year I'm astounded.

I think this is a better list than the Uncut list. More variety of genre. I voted for Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves, a lock for my own top ten of the year (which I am still tinkering with).

there's more than enough incredible music out there for me to waste my time on the likes of Courtney Barnett or the 15th or 16th Oh Sees album released in the past year.
