I seem to recall Mr Gould's vocal accompaniments were likewise a source of irritation to some listeners.
Yeah, probably not... but it was part of the original single, and we did not get it remastered. It's no biggie for me, as it can easily be added back.
Getting the original double album on released day but I'm holding out on the other in hopes of a colored vinyl maybe next year
The spiken intro to the Mess is fun and of course included on the original b-side release. With that said I think the exclusion of it is for the better in the context and flow of the double-album But that s only me
Slightly off topic question: Do you guys file Wings with the rest of your McCartney stuff, or separately under W? What about as far as digital media is concerned? I'm considering editing my Wings albums in iTunes to be by "Wings" rather than "Paul McCartney" while still keeping my physical copies filed under M.
On this page they list the times of all the songs included on the super deluxe RRS. From what I can see they just simply repeat the same 2018 remasters on the second disc and the Bruce McMouse Show only lasts 52,50 minutes MCCARTNEY, PAUL - RED ROSE SPEEDWAY (LTD.SUPER DEL.ED - Sounds Recordshop Venlo
Personally I believe 52 minutes of Bruce McMouse is enough I did not expect different mixes of RRS on the double-album. Don t care about that On the other hand I do wonder if the rough mix of Wild Life merits a disc on it s own
Neither did I. Final mixes for RRS were done in January 1973 and this 2-disc version was compiled in February, so I already suspected that. The studio version of 1882 lasts almost 7 minutes. That's the one I'm most looking forward to listening to!
Everything he’s done - From the Firemen stuff, soundtracks (Family Way), classical work, to Wings - all gets filed under “Paul McCartney” in my iTunes library. Too confusing to be jumping around from P to W lol. Also, everything in chronological date release date order. Even these reissues - for example when these are released they come with a 2018 as a year of release in the metadata box. I’ll change it to 1971 and 1973 respectively and then in the album title I’ll add [2018 Archive Reissue]. This way the albums still appear in year order. I don’t need to see RRS and WL next to Egypt Station in my library. Yes, I’m a geek with this stuff but I suspect I’m not the only one on here who dabbles in such minuate!
Best Friend is great. Gets better the more I listen to it. My conspiracy theory - it’s an open message to his ‘best friend’ Lennon!
I fully expect there to be plenty of dented copies, unfortunately. I hope i’m wrong. I also hope U Disciver ships the thing before Christmas...,
