My Roksan Kandy K2 is a cd player only, but it has served me very well over the last 5 or 6 years. Its reliability is a hundred percent, it hasn’t refused a single cd so far.

Still using a nearly 18 year old Ah! Njoe Tjoeb CD player--a Marantz 4000 modified by a Dutch company and sold by Upscale Audio. Don't hear much about them but I think it sounds great.

My CD player died a few years back so I'm using a Blu-Ray player. There is no track readout, so it is not ideal for skipping around, but it plays CDs flawlessly.

I'm thinking about paying 10 bucks for an early-model CD player, readily available at a thrift store near me.

My Oppo UDP-205 is connected by its analog L+R to my preamp for playing CDs. It is also connected to my A/V processor by HDMI for Blu-Ray, UHD 4k and DVD playback. It is also connected to the A/V processor by 7.1 analog for SACD, DVD-A and Blu-Ray Audio playback.

I prefer one box and less is more.

Dedicated cd player. DENON DCM-460 5-cd changer. It has served me flawlessly for many years.....

Main player is a dedicated CD/SACD player: Arcam CD37.

However, and primarily for video (and SACD ISO ripping), I'm also running a region-free Oppo BDP-103...which is paralleled with a (U.S. region) UHD Panasonic DMP-UB900. Off topic for this thread is that once the UHD Panasonic DP-UB9000 I have on order comes in, the UB900 will be shuffled out and retired.

If they are fit for purpose, I have no problem with multiple boxes.

I recently bought an Arcam CDS50, which plays CD; SACD and has a streaming function.

For BR, DVD and SACD in 5.1 I use my Cambridge Audio 751BD player.

A cheap Sony with a great DAC means I have the best digital I've ever had previously owned Esoteric SACD and an Oppo 105.

McIntosh MVP861. Never thought I'd even want to listen to SACDs, BUT the ones I've chosen, very carefully of course, blow regular CDs out of the water. And yes, I know a lot of SACDs are not great. For instance, Gaucho - obviously better than a CD and honestly, on par if not better than my vinyl version.

My OPPO is unbalanced analog stereo out to pre/pro and multi-channel analog out to multi-channel analog preamplifier (multi-channel SACD output is converted from DSD to PCM to output at user selected crossover/levels for bass management), since my analog preamp does not have a crossover function.

Wanted to size down the amount of equipment in the living room so I went with a do all machine but didn't want to compromise sound quality so I purchased the best one I could find. Ayre DX 5

Dedicated CD player which rarely plays CDs. I use it mainly as a DAC as all my CDs are ripped to AIFFs. It's a Resolution Audio Opus 21.

i use an Oppo 980H as my disc player... i have digital coaxial out to my DAC for mostly everything but I do have some HDCD's which require the single ended connection so I also have the Oppo going direct to my preamp. I hardly use it as most of my music now is on my harddrive. I still have close to 1000 cd's though... so I keep a player around for the obscure stuff I haven't dumped in the hard drive yet or isn't available on amazon unlimited.

You're correct about that- I rarely use it nowadays but it's still in great condition and IMHO very good sounding especially with HDCD discs.
