Yeah but he started recording it and having the idea for a full album before 'Give Ireland's release. Ah whatever, we should probably get back to Paul. I like both of Paul's political tracks.
I haven't either. Does anyone know where they are shipping from? I paid tax on it so I'm assuming California.
Thanks for sharing! So far as the article itself goes, it's nice to read a sympathetic review, but I'm not sure the title of it will do sales any favors. I think if there's a sense that an album is in need of a "defense," it's a comfort to (defensive) people who already like it, but it's not really a hook to the uncommitted who might be wondering how to spend their extra cash. I guess it might contribute positively to the general cultural sense "out there," among people who pay attention to these things, that the McCartney critical rehabilitation project is still making headway against old prejudices -- and that's a good thing from the perspective of softening up future buyers and critics. Just my 2 cents, of course. RH
Do you have received a e-mail telling so? Or you've check your order and it appears? To me still anything...
Just want to chime in to add another vote for the Macca Rehab Project. I understand completely why people detested those records when they came out, and I have only been able to appreciate anything past the singles recently, despite my lifelong Beatles obsession (other kids had ball players or superheroes. I had The Beatles.) I've read some really, really nasty reviews of Wild Life and Red Rose Speedway...even Paul himself is pretty down on those records...and I don't get it. I get how they'd be a big letdown after...well...being in The Beatles, but yeesh. Even Bip Bop is pleasant enough in the right context. Christgeau said Red Rose Speedway was the worst album made by a first rank rock-n-roller, and even taking his sense of humor (some would say snark) into account, that's pretty severe. Even at its cheesiest, there's something of value happening in there. Get On the Right Thing is begging for a Lemon Twigs cover. And the central conceit of Loup (1st Indian on the Moon) comes off as a bit patronizing and awkward in 2018, but as a piece of music it's wonderfully creepy.
No words for the sheer beauty of When The Wind Is Blowing. It's different to the bootlegged version with vocals I think, but it could just be the huge sonic upgrade. Anyway, this is the definitive version of the track!
Just received my shipping notice confirmation for the Big Box from uDiscover. Woo hoo!!! It says delivery to the UK is 1-4 days but should arrive tomorrow. Fingers crossed it does and is in one piece.
I'm sure I'm repeating myself here, but take Loup, stick it on the McCartney album with a new title like "Linda's Mind" and everyone would be praising it as a hidden gem and highlight.
I apologize for this mundane question, but, I can't find the answer in all of the obvious places: What is on the second disc of the WWL and RRS 2-disc editions?

Maybe they chose to release the vocal version of Wind but not Sunshine on the earlier archives because the backing vocals on Sunshine are very Wingsy, so they really don't fit with RAM. But then again, there's that 1986 remix of Love for You, the biggest mistake on an otherwise superb set.
Okay, I'm now through the 2 disc RRS and Wild Life. Initial thoughts: These are two completely different beasts. The second disc of RRS is incredibly polished -- Seaside Woman sounds different, and everything except for Live and Let Die Take 10 is incredibly finished sounding. Wild Life is purposefully not finished. With the exception of the Love Is Strange and Give Ireland singles, everything here is a rough home recording. And while the presentation here is in peak sound quality, these songs are very rough. Some of them are endearing (Dear Friend I is outstanding, even though I'm sure I've heard it before, I was absolutely transfixed). Some of them are grating (I don't think I need to hear 4 minutes of Give Ireland's alternate version). RRS definitely succeeds in the 2 disc set. It is a no-brainer purchase. I'm going to retract my previous statement that everyone needs to at least buy the 2 disc Wild Life -- I'm not sure that ANYONE needs to purchase the 2 disc Wild Life. If you are a Wild Life fan, get the box. There are some gems here, but I don't think there is enough to justify the purchase.
This remastered version is the prettiest version of Little Lamb Dragonfly I've ever heard out of 87, DCC and 93.
