Thanks. That one was released in 99. It is not the "deluxe" version like the the 2005. AKA it does not have the Atlanta Stone Free and over an hour worth of extra interviews. It is the standard film without the extras but at least you don't have to watch it cropped..... Another example of an EH release giving you more material in 2005 than the earlier 1999 release but also with a regression in the quality of the product.

The one I am intersted to see if anyone has and if cropped is the only option or not is this one Warner Bros. Pictures ‎– Z1 69846. A European 2005 release that also contains Machine Gun from BOG not on the US 2005 release.

This is the the same as what is in the 2017 Complete Box. It is the Douglas Edit plus Otis. I forgot to mention Otis is in the 2017 Box as well.

While the copyright on my EH pressing is indeed 2014 not 2016 Discogs does list the non numbered US copies as 2016. Mine is non numbered. This would have been when I bought my copy as well. So maybe I am not wrong on the year for that one. It still has the Purple Haze problem. Once you are aware of it you can't help but notice it and cringe when the section hits you.

Actually I think EH released this yet again in 2017 for the 50th too? If they did did they correct the Purple Haze problem.? I refused to buy it at the time as obviously I have too many Monterey releases already. There was also a new Monterey comp CD that came out in 2017 that had one Hendrix track on it too.

It would be interesting to know what they reissued. The same or corrected US pressing or is it the EU variant?

Have legacy/ EH issued Monterey on CD and is it simply the MCA/EH repackaged?

On the EH release 12 seconds of the solo are repeated.

Edit-yep, we move fast round these parts!

Just to Nitpick a little more the EH 2004 CD does not have the Purple Haze problem while the 2014/16 vinyl does. I also think the 2004 CD is a little loud but it doesnt really bother me much. Overall I like the mix and sound well enough. The 2004 CD is the most complete copy I know of. I like the sound best on the 2014/16 vinyl outside of the 1970 version but the Purple Haze problem on the 2014/16 vinyl is annoying.

This year I unwisely sold my original Japanese Vinyl Copy.
Great natural sound with all the chatter as far as I can recall and NO repeated solo's!

I don't dig the 2004 EH release of Monterey. Maybe I need a vinyl copy. I have a needledrop of the Hendrix/Redding comp and yeah, like you said, it sounds really good, only not complete.

I've been thinking about buying the 2017 Criterion Monterey set. Do you think the audio would be worth the rip? I wouldn't buy it just to rip the audio, of course. I like the idea of the set, but the audio might be a bonus.

On Amazon, it's a bargain at $32 and change for the whole set on Blu-ray. I paid more than that for the old Criterion DVD set when it first came out. You'd just have to move Can You See Me from the front of the film and Purple Haze from the back to their proper places in the set.

    What pressing is this?

I am unaware of any recording, CD or Vinyl that includes all the start / end and between song chat.

So is the mix of Killing Floor from Monterey on Kiss The Sky the same as the one on the AD Jimi Plays Monterey or is it unique?

I picked up a longer post-Wild Thing end segment somewhere. It's not on any official release; basically it's one more minute of audience mayhem and the MC speaking.

Is this from the mono tape source? If I remember correctly this version is complete including all chats etc. It lasts about 47 minutes.
