The Struts - Young & Dangerous CD has a dr of like 5-6. Haven't played the LP but will tonight. Not expecting much improvement sonically, just being a completest and supporting the format. Always depressing when new rock releases are crushed like this when you can hear that it was very nicely recorded.
Found three mint original pressings (at Soundgarden in Baltimore, Md.) Breakfast In America, Ghost In The Machine, Back In Black. Filled some holes in my collection...
All Them Witches, Lightning at the Door and Dying Surfer Meets His Maker + Anna von Hausswolff’s Dead Magic

David Gilmour Rattle That Lock German Vinyl issue off Amazon Prime, arrives Sunday, Christmas Present to self.
I have two LPs waiting to be played over Xmas - 'Etch and Etch Deep' by Haiku Salut, and the Clothilde compilation. Both are Christmas presents to myself!
I have a copy of this album that I bought sometime in the 80's. I haven't listened to it in a while (at least 10 yrs.) and I've made a few upgrades to the system in that time. So I played that copy this past week. First thing that I noticed was that it didn't sound as good as I remembered; the studio tracks just weren't as clear and open as I recalled. (Heck, my hearing isn't that bad. ) When I was playing the third LP in the set I noticed something weird...I could feel the table in front me vibrating, and you could see that the liquid I had in the glass on the table was rippling. I wasn't playing it loud, just normal listening volume. After a quick inspection I found the driver in the lower rear of the right speaker (Vandersteen 3A Sig) was flapping like crazy. WTH? I checked the record, looking for a warp. It wasn't perfectly flat, but it seemed playable enough. Halfway through side six I started to feel the vibration again, and then I started to hear the driver bottoming out, making a clanking noise. Yikes! Whelp, I decided that this album needed to be replaced, and since it was part of the recent NY remaster series, I had no trouble finding a copy... Ah...much better.
Steve Earle - Washington Square Serenade & Foo Fighters - Medium Rare [2011 RSD]. Both second hand in NM condition. Sound great.
