I saw Dylan at Hop Farm some years ago. He would only allow one static camera in longshot for the screens. At one point I was in the VIP tent with my son watching it on a big monitor screen. A woman came up next to us. Peered at the screen. Stepped closer. Peered again. Got her nose almost up against it. Turned to us and said, "It could be anybody, couldn't it?"

I saw Neil and Crazy Horse in 1987 and they were fantastic. Nothing wrong with Crazy Horse, just thought it was a bit samey in 2013 and he played too much from Psychedelic Pill. His setlists with POTR are more varied so I reckon I will enjoy it more. (Crazy) Horses for courses I guess!

I'm planning on going and sitting outside the fence like I did for ELO and Blondie a few years ago. I can take my own food and drink and wee up against the trees.

From Neil's last Hyde Park gig, 4 years ago:

Billy Talbot had suffered a stroke during tour rehearsals, and his replacement Rick Rosas was himself already dying of lung disease.

So the tour was somewhat cursed with bad luck, especially after Poncho's injury the previous year! But they still put on a good show, even if the tour did improve as it progressed.

Rick had also played at Neil's other gig at Hyde Park, in 2009. He considered this one of his most memorable shows, partly due to his hero Paul McCartney joining them on stage for A Day In The Life.

On his request, I sent him a CD of the 2009 Hyde Park show (as well as Bronco Bowl 1989, one he remembered for the funny band intro he gave) about a year before he passed away.

That is the advantage of POTR: you are likely to hear a wider range of songs than you would with Crazy Horse.

My favourite live bands (CH, Lost Dogs, Bluenotes, Poncho & The MGs) tend to be the more specialised ones, masters of their own niche; but I can understand the thrill of hearing a more varied selection as well.

Are there any ticket sites that don’t charge obscene charges. Looking at prices I think general admission will be the option for me....

The only two old farts / dinosaurs who still have something to say, IMO.

Last time I saw Neil (10 years ago), he was still rockin'.

I wasn’t going to go and was going to see what other dates Neil will announce but I changed my mind.

Don’t buy your tickets yet!!!! (Unfortunately I already have.)

Neil Young is apparently angered that the concert was put on sale before being made public on his website. Also the main sponsor Barclays is ‘unethical’, in his opinion.

He may pull out, but hopefully not.

I really can't see Neil's point. He's played Hyde Park twice before 2008 and 2014. Barclays were sponsors then. Par for the course for him though. I have tickets so hoping he won't cancel.

If he cancels I ruddy well better get a refund! Paid 200 quid for the gold tickets, and I am mainly going to see him (seen Dylan before, don't mind seeing him again, but Neil is whom I am really going for)

It was 2009 when he first played and Hard Rock were the sponsors then.

    2014 was indeed Barclaycard .

I hope he doesn’t cancel. If so I expect a full refund.

I don’t understand the presale argument. Bob had a fan presale so I refuse to believe that Neil wasn’t offered the opportunity to have one.

Neil's only happy if he has something to be grumpy about.

He definitely won't cancel. This is just his way of trying to show that while he's playing under a banner, he disagrees with it.

Barclays must be starting to regret inviting the grumpy old men to their summer garden party.

First it’s Bob with his phobia against cameras and now it’s Neil and his problems with corporate sponsors.

Next thing the grumpy old men will be drinking all the punch, trying to dance with the young girls and peeing in the plants.

According to ‘Shamrock’ on the Thrashers Wheat website, the concert WILL go ahead with a different sponsor.

An announcement will be made soon on the Neil Young Archives website.

    Hope it’s true.
