Please excuse if this has already been posted.

I used to have and play this Burl Ives Christmas CD back in the early '90's and always thought it was the best sound quality of any Christmas album with the voice of Burl Ives.
This is not the Burl Ives Rankin and Bass "Frosty The Snow Man" recordings which sound just like they did on the TV, not so good. This is "Sinatra Capitol Records" quality and always thought
it cut through the air the same way with the most festive tone. Pretty good sounding CD for around $5 on Amazon.

Not music, but for me the quintessential ingredient of Christmas, the thing that sealed the deal, was the 2000AD annual which usually came out in December, just in time for the Christmas stocking. I still have all my annuals from the 80's and I keep the tradition of getting them out and re-reading them during the holidays...

I am thrilled to say that the PC police have caused this song to increase greatly in both sales, streaming and radio play thanks to their ridiculous overreaction to the sentiments of a song written in the 1940's. Here is the article as posted in the Bible of the record business, Billboard Magazine:

'Baby It's Cold Outside' Sales, Streaming & Airplay Are Up ... - Billboard

This is an interesting album in that it almost isn't a Christmas album at all, but really a Winter album. But there are two no-question-about-it Christmas songs: Rudolph & White Christmas.

I love this one as well. Pete Jolly's recording of "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" is an all-time favorite, and I believe this LP is still the only place you can find that gem. Wish this one would be reissued on CD (with some bonus tracks added, of course).

The Pete Jolly track did appear on some rare and out of print CDs. One was COOL YULE: THE SWINGING SOUNDS OF CHRISTMAS that was issued in the UK. Another was a Japanese release called MUSIC DIARY: DECEMBER, CHRISTMAS TIME. It also was on some other A&M LP Christmas compilations in other countries.

Caught it reported in my local news broadcast. And I think CBS Evening News might have run the story as well.

In the name of "We've got far worse problems to prioritize and be concerned about" I'm glad for it's new found success.

Now if I can just stop snickering every time I hear the line from "Joy To The World"... "The Lord is come..."!

How hard would it be to quell my gutter mind to turn "is" into "has"? Where's the PC police when you need them?
