I'm planning to make an effort to more closely follow new music this year. I heard, I believe, 46 new albums in 2018 but I want to do better in 2019.

Of things already announced or rumored, I am looking forward to hearing:
Weezer, Raconteurs, Deerhunter, Sharon Van Etten, Panda Bear, Rival Sons, Beirut, Fidlar, American Football, Hozier, La Dispute, Flaming Lips, Lana Del Rey, Mercury Rev, Jenny Lewis, Vampire Weekend and a few more...

I've got a good feeling about this year for music. Could be a cracker.

How does a "Best of 2019" thread become a place to post albums you're looking forward to. I know the artists we all like are the "best ever" but to assume their next release is a Best Of 2019 before it's released is a little ridiculous.

Imho, it’s A okay to post the albums one is looking forward to with anticipation. In this nostalgia shop of a forum, at least some people are looking forward at all.

“This is their first full length LP. Produced by Go Kurosawa (Kikagaku Moyo) in Tsubame studio in Tokyo. Starting track Rustic Song, from the jet sound at beginning, you will realize that you arrived in Thailand. Followed by Track 2 Starshine, you can find surf vibe but it’s different than the West coast surf music. The topnotch is the B1 track Badtrip where you can hear lo-fi garage with heavy doomy fuzz jam part. For fans of Oh Sees, La Luz, or Thai’s morlam music.”

I already heard a download of the new (long overdue) 24-7 Spyz album, eagerly awaiting the physical copy. It sounds fantastic.

24/7 Spyz: The Soundtrack To The Innermost Galaxy

Same with the new Brave album. I should have the CD in a couple days. Sounds like their best yet.

    Brave

I'm going to make a bigger effort to support DIY artists via pledgemusic, patreon, bandcamp etc. this year.

I'm waiting for most of those myself. Also new ones from Bob Mould and Swervedriver. Pere Ubu should have a new coming this year, and according to Mr. Thomas it's a doozy.

Pre-ordered the new one guitarist William Tyler recorded recently in Portland with the guy who worked with The Decemberists. Bill Frisell is on it, too.

And the upcoming Tedeschi Trucks Band should be a good one, too.
