Saw it lat night - "goofy" is the best word I can use. It skirts Flash Gordon / Adam West Batman camp. I'm sure 1980's action flicks with all their excess were an influence - if Dolph Lundgren's presence wasn't a giveaway. The final battle... just wow. I feel like a five year old helped concoct it: "And these guys are riding sharks and big seahorses are fighting these giant crabs and then the princess shows up on a killer whale and..." I have to wonder what went through Dafoe's mind as he delivered volumes of exposition concerning the political and cultural machinations of undersea kingdoms. James Wan had to know what line he was near and reeled it in (pun intended) as to not go full bat$#!t crazy.

Not to say I didn't like the film. It was fascinating and highly entertaining for all the reasons stated above, and more.

I watched the film today and found it really entertaining. Much better than certain other DC movies. There were a lot of people of the afternoon showing, even though it's been in theaters for nearly a month.
There's a short mid-credits scene. Is there a post-credits scene as well? I didn't wait to find out.

I'm with you entirely until the last sentence. I disliked it for all the reasons you gave previously. I found it perhaps the worst comics-book-related movie I've seen in a while. Dolph Lundgren acted like he was tripping on something while on set, and it wasn't the lighting cables.

That's exactly what I thought when I left the theater - it's a 21st century Flash Gordon, for better or worse.

Whoever was the costume designer for this movie better not win any awards. They were terrible.

    Fun movie though.

    WTH?

Aquaman riding a Shark. Warriors using giant SeaHorse's into battle. You do KNOW this was in the comic's don't cha?

You go to and spend your hard earned cash to see it to be entertained, nothing more, nothing less right?

    And were you?

Over a Billion Dollars earned so far....I think you and a whole lot of other people were.

Great, great visual and highly entertaining movie...I was throughly impressed and bring on Aquaman II vs Namor and will see who IS the biggest shark in the seas!

Saw it last Saturday an thought that it was an excellent movie, great cast. It deserves 100% of the recognition that it is getting.

It was a long..... movie. Maybe cut out 20-minutes?

They in the verge of overdoing the yucks in many of Marvel films. Thor Rag jumped the comedy shark, IMO

Don't blame you one bit. I just found myself laughing at it so much that I liked the experience. I wouldn't necessarily call it a good movie, but I found it much more entertaining than, say, 8mm with Nicholas Cage, which I laughed at for similar reasons but ultimately disliked.

I liked Ragnorok the best of the Thor films. They finally realized that Chris Hemsworth is a really good comic actor and they used him as such. Not to say he can't be serious - his Manson character in Bad Times at the El Royale was threatening enough. I just never connected to the previous movies, and for me it comes down to forcing a love story where it wasn't justified (at that point in the timeline - I know Jane Foster's in the funny books). If Branaugh had been able to bring a tighter Shakespearean drama to Asgard then I would probably agree with you.

What? You didn't love the most-lauded, groundbreaking "Black Panther?"

    It was nonsense.
