The next songs to go are "Chains" and "Till There Was You".

Due to the limit on how many options there can be in a poll, I've had to exclude three of the strongest songs (I Saw Her Standing There, She Loves You and I Want to Hold Your Hand), and they will be added in over the next two rounds.

    Results so far:
Round 1: "A Taste of Honey", "Little Child"
Round 2: "Hold Me Tight", "Devil in Her Heart"
Round 3: "Chains", "Till There Was You"

Question: What's your favourite 1963 Paul song?

If you get in early you can really move the dial!

I'm not fond of the covers of Berry or Mr postman.

Glad to be able to start voting against From Me To You. Always struck me as such a formulaic follow up to the first two singles and about the least "inspired" thing they did - reeks of "time to crank out another single boys".

Great move by Dave Dexter leaving it off all the US albums

Sorry to see "Till There Was You" go. Not because of the tune itself, but because of George's great guitar work on the record. For me, that elevates the song above some others such as "Boys" & "I Wanna Be Your Man", which I'm voting off this round (sorry, Mr. Starkey).

Fave Paul: "I Saw Her Standing There"

Boys should not be getting voted off yet. It shouldn't even be the first Ringo song to go.

DQ: A tough call between I Saw Her Standing There and All My Loving. Both represent the best of Paul in different styles.

I'm surprised about Till There Was You. A lovely song. Many songs left I like less. I will go with Please Mr. Postman and I'll Get you. The original Mr. Postman is better an I'll Get You is weaker than most original songs. The Beatles hardly ever have any filler tracks, but both of these songs feel like they are.

How anyone can vote against This Boy is beyond me.
It's one of the most beautiful and passionate songs ever recorded.

Q- I Saw Her Standing There. John's contribution though is an important one. From she was just seventeen "never been a beauty queen" to "you know what I mean" An early example of how they elevated each others songs

That's my all time favourite Beatles track you're talking about there. 7 weeks at No 1 over here, It seemed to get lost in the rush of singles released in early'64 in the States. We all know that Dexter was a prat!

Yeah, Boys rocks harder, but guess I can't really begrudge love for any of their girl-group homages....

"Boys" rocks- would take it and "I Wanna Be Your Man" over "Twist & Shout" every time. Always found the later overrated.

I must admit 'Twist And Shout' is clunky, it's John's vocals that carry the tune to greatness. I've always loved 'Boys'. the instrumental break especially is totally rockin'!

Yeah, "Twist and Shout" is one of the primal rock vocal performances...by the end, John's barely able to (almost) hit the notes! Beautiful.

(but the tune itself doesn't cook like Boys or Wanna Be Your Man ; ) Love Paul's high-harmony backing vocals on the latter.
