Discs were slated for delivery today - I got an email saying the package is damaged and would be returned to Amazon!

I immediately contacted Amazon and told them that I did not want the refund; that I instead wanted a replacement to be sent and that I didn't care when it arrives. Customer service guy was super helpful and the replacement order is in. Very disappointed to not have the set in my hands today but for that $16 price, I'm willing to wait until *next* January if need be!

 

I had that happen once but they automatically reordered. Sounds like they might have been trying to pull a fast one?

 

That thought had crossed my mind but as the package was practically right on my doorstep before it was reported as damaged (after 4 days of travel!), I decided to give the benefit of the doubt to Amazon - UPS is another matter!

 

Mine is scheduled for arrival tomorrow. Fingers still crossed.

Mine was shipped today. This is dikipak, right? I dont think it will survive the flight to Europe without nice corner dings :/ Cant beat the price though.

Was your copy made in the USA?

 

It had "Made in Mexico" printed in small black print on the outer shrink. The discs were pretty tight in the slide-in slots. I put the discs in jewel boxes.

The CD set is a much nicer presentation. I will probably keep that as well. I could not pass up on the sonic upgrade for only $16.

 

My Blu-Ray set has been shipped. 3 weeks to get here.....

 

Listened to disc one last night. Man it sounds amazing in surround!
A little strange the bass is in the center channel.

 

So now we are at the point when people tell us when they listened to it. I look forward to when it gets to the “I have filed it in my collection” stage.

 

Ha-ha. I can post that. But I'll first have to post that I ripped it and added it to the music library.

 

Well Hell, that was back in 2014 for me.

 

I think most of us were a bit surprised that it would actually turn up at that price and posted about it. The postings (a) made me buy it and (b) made me happy that it would turn up. Feel free to add your comments to the original 2014 thread about the set's sound quality

I appreciate most all the posts and even learned how long it takes to ship a disc to Western Australia.

 

My biggest problem with this forum is I am so susceptible to “good deals”. My copy just arrived. Packaging is in perfect condition. Only issue - I do not own a blu- ray player! Someday...

 

Now is the time to get one !
