I knew Priority was getting delivered by the USPS on Sundays, but now Media Mail packages too ?

I was surprised to see Delivered when I clicked on tracking, and even more so when I opened my front door !

Tried Googling it, with no response dated within years.

So not one person here, nor on Facebook can confirm this is now normal standard operating procedure ?

I had a few Media Mail deliveries on Sunday last year.

I wonder if they were trying to stay ahead of all deliveries with this extreme weather predicted a week early?

Wouldn't explain post # 4, no, I think it's their way of staying ahead of package deliveries, with so many shopping online now.

post #4 didn't say when that was because the USPS does deliver on Sunday's at Christmas rush time. The USPS may be doing some new strategy as they are losing money big time and selling it off is being discussed.

Late October to mid-December I had several Sundays with record deliveries. I've been getting too many to remember each delivery date, but I remember how much it surprised me the first time when they brought 3 or 4 Media Mail packages on a Sunday morning. I haven't seen anything on a Sunday since.

Thank you, definitely not holiday-related. Cool though, of course.

A lot of days they have a separate truck delivering packages early in the day, which is nice as our regular mail usually doesn’t come until 6-8 PM.

I had a media package deliver at 10:30pm last night. This was a box originally expected to deliver on Wednesday. I looked at tracking on Thursday when it hadn't shown up and it said it was rescheduled to 2/6.

I went back and checked on another forum. I did get a Media Mail delivery on Dec 23, 2018. I'm sure I won't get another until maybe next holiday season.

Since Amazon bullied the USPS into working on their "day off", sometimes it makes perfect sense when you see an undelivered parcel just sitting around taking up space, to just grab it and stuff it onto the truck, to make space back at headquarters...particularly when you know -
    - it's the only other thing ready for delivery that you know belongs on that same truck
    - there's gonna be a backlog of other parcels down the line it could get mis-routed into
    - if it isn't any skin off the deliveryperson's a** if it's an envelope going to 2133 Main St, the same day they've gotta make a dropoff at 2131 Main St. and 2135 Main St. that day anyway
    - if it makes Jeff Bezos grumpy that actual, worthwhile postal delivery gets done in just as punctual fashion, as that Echo, and the 28" box with nothing in it but a ceramic banana, for the same shoe leather expended.

Rec'd another album, shipped Media Mail, around 8:30 this Sunday morning. For a 3 day weekend, this is even more appreciated, as I had paid for it 9 days ago, and it had yet to get past " Pre Shipment " until yesterday afternoon.
