    He was in Gremlins right?

Also, for no reason whatsoever, I thought he passed years ago. 90 is pretty fine age to take off.

RIP Dick Miller, terribly sad news today...

He had a full life too...90 yro!

Remember seeing him in The Dirty Dozen, later on I Wanna Hold Your Hand, and The Burb's amongst his better known films (Gremlins 1&2, Terminator,etc..)

I just saw the news on Arrow Video's Facebook page.

Farewell to one of Roger Corman's repertory players.

While never really a "leading man", he was probably in around hundreds of films
as a character actor. Directors loved using and casting him.
I especially liked his smaller part in "Matinee" (1993), one of my favorite films.

Mr. Rumsfield: Who picks up this mess? Well you're going to pick up the mess, because YOU are a garbage man.
Vic, Garbageman #1: I pick up garbage from cans, not from the street!

He was also in Pulp Fiction as Monster Joe, but his scenes were deleted. Weird that his role isn't listed on IMDB for that.

My favorite Miller bit, as the Police Chief in"Rock N Roll High School"...
Principal Togar: "Those Ramones are peculiar..."
Chief: "They're ugly. Ugly, ugly people."

2nd favorite: when the played the sleazy resort owner in Joe Dante's "Piranha" (1978)
(To underling) "I told you, I didn't wanna hear another word about the damn piranhas! What ABOUT the go**amn piranhas?"
    Underling: "They're...eating the guests. Sir."

Always loved seeing him in the Roger Corman produced films of the 70's including three of his five Nurses films (Night Call Nurses, The Young Nurses, & Candy Stripe Nurses), Fly Me (quick cameo as the cab driver), and Death Race 2000. One of those faces which you see and smile 'cause he'll be good even if the film isn't. R.I.P.

  15. He had a full career. So much stuff he was in. He has a very recognizable face.

Very entertaining documentary with lots of face-time with Dick. Down to earth guy with lots of stories and anecdotes about working with just about everybody over the course of a couple hundred movies. The title came from people saying "Oh it's that guy, you know, he was in . . . ."

I love his story about Rock and Roll High School where he has to have a word with the "head Ramone" about one of their entourage.

Short segment on 2/1/19 episode of Fresh Air, an interview with Dick Miller.
Maybe the funniest bit is how he played 2 roles in one film.

This is currently available on Amazon Prime Video. It was released on DVD with quite a few extras but the DVD doesn't seem to be available from the usual retailers anymore (although it is still showing up on the film's website).

I've just finished watching a 1999 ER episode and Dick had a very touching scene in it. It really shows he was truly a fine actor when given the chance.
