I just saw this on Twitter. Seems like he is recovering but maybe some vocal cord damage according to the article.

Bad news and I hope he gets well soon. Direct vocal cord damage due to intubation can occur though can recover, but laryngeal nerve damage can occur during heart surgery also.

Wow, I hope he makes a full recovery and can enjoy several more years even if he does not get tour again(or record any new music), but just hope LB gets to be healthy for him to spend a retirement with his Wife and Kids(and Close Friends).

One my Top 3 Favorite Guitar Players.

I passed up the the opportunity to see him last Fall, and really regret it now, but tickets on Stubhub had gotten high as that tour stop was sold out, so wish I would have bought the tickets when initially available.

Damn! Hope he recovers quickly and fully. That must be horrible as a singer, automatically having your ability to do what you love instantly compromised potentially, but at least it is better than the heart surgery not going well

Aw, man! I hope he recovers fully and quickly.

I'm curious as to how the heart surgery could have damaged his vocal cords?

Just saw a hospital pic of his wife and him.

You know, it doesnt matter how famous or rich one is because no one escapes the ugly green hospital gowns.

    Get well Mr Buckingham

Most likely the intubation. It affected my mother-in-law's voice after heart surgery.

Hopefully the cords were merely irritated rather than damaged permanently.

Wow, it just goes to show you, who knows what can happen to any of us on any given day? Be thankful for what you have, and who you have.

I imagine the years of cocaine abuse were far more detrimental, as well a family history of heart disease.

The vocal cord damage issue sounds similar to that of Marty Balin in his last years before his death, last year. Hope this ain't the case with Mr. Buckingham. . . .

I just hope Lindsey can recover and have many enjoyable years yet to come. At this point I don't care if he makes any new music, we have a wealth of it from him already. Health and happiness are the most important things, and I wish both for Lindsey.
