Excellent, haven't benn so far. Also have Porgy coming, another favorite. I truly hope that MoFi continues this program until the entire catalog is covered.

Ah that's cool, it was a hard design/font for me to figure out, glad it looked it up as I was unfamiliar with the pianist.

Ty, I paid €20. Original copies on Verve don't fetch that much, regardless of condition.

I've heard a couple of Elemental Music Blue Note reissues and they sound quite good. But as I mentioned in my post earlier, I already have the CD and double dipping would only be an option if I find an original or if it gets reissued by Blue Note for the Tone Poet series (I had high hopes they'd do it in the first run, but they did two Turrentines instead ).

    AxiomAcoustics "The enemy is listening"

    Anthony Williams: Spring

    Anthony Williams: Drums
    Wayne Shorter: Tenor Sax
    Sam Rivers: Tenor saxophone, flute
    Herbie Hancock: Piano
    Gary Peacock: Bass

Call me crazy but I've often seen (and heard) this as the album that the "Second Great Quintet" never made. Check the lineup and consider the time context of this masterwork in just a 12 month period:

7/14/64: Miles In Tokyo w/Rivers, Hancock and Carter
8/21&24/64: Life Time w/Rivers, Hancock and Carter
9/25/64: Miles In Berlin w/Shorter, Hancock and Carter
    1/20-22/65: E.S.P. w/Shorter, Hancock and Carter
8/12/65: Spring w/Rivers and Shorter, Hancock

Yes, there are additional intresting pieces to this multifaceted puzzle but......enough for now, on to....Echo))))))))))

    Dear Mr. Harley,

    Please TP this!

    Bright Moments,
    Ax

Yeah, so many hopefuls for the series (see above) and while I'll never complain (yet) I was a little disappointed in the first year offerings, including doubling up on Mr. T. And some of the artists are not exactly underre[resented in the audiophile reissue world. However, I am extremely excited by a few of the picks, namely:
    Sam Rivers: Contours
    Andrew Hill: Black Fire!
If we can lean that direction a little more I'd be far more pleased and surprised.
