This could be great. I like the idea of Crosby singing these songs in his current voice, though I'm not sure how something like Cowboy Movie is going to work, despite the assertion that "it sounds just as ragged with [the orchestra]". Nevertheless, a welcome addition to the Crosby canon. With a plethora of new music from him in recent years, he can hardly be accused of taking the easy way out in revisiting this gem.

So does anyone thing that he can convince Neil to join him on "Music Is Love"? :)

What the heck does this mean: ‘We want to make it an orchestral remix, remove elements that we approach acoustically again without losing their intensity.’ ?

Didn't see this one coming. A live Lighthouse band recording would be my preferred choice.

Probably not, cause all I ever see them do is repeat blog posts and press releases.

What’s the matter Coz not going broke fast enough? :)

Orchestras are expensive, as Zappa found out. I love the album but I don’t think it’s crying out for strings.

We’ll see how it turns out.

Maybe he should get Giles to remix it. Do the full Monty of revisionism.

I don't see this being successful. No interest here.

I would rather have a new release by the band that did Sky Trails.

The article doesn't actually say they're going to re-record the vocals. It says: "We want to make it an orchestral remix, remove elements that we approach acoustically again without losing their intensity.” Whatever the heck that means. I can't imagine the album without Neil, Jerry, or Joni.

Either way, it sounds like a bad idea to me.

(Edit: oh sorry, I see somebody a few posts back already called out that ridiculous statement, complete with a "what the heck" comment masking stronger words.)

Since redoing an album that has the particular vibe of that one with an orchestra will add at least 50 musicians to the sessions, that's going to call for a pretty incredible quantity of pot.

I look forward to it. Probably one of my top 25 albums and I have purchased it on LP, CD and DVD-A so I look forward to hearing what more he can do with it.

Well, he couldn't get the band back together (CSNY), so he went a different route. ;)

 My turn for a snarky comment: "So do the Rolling Stones have any plans of giving Jamming With Edward the same treatment?"

    Nothing wrong with this.

Good for him--I don't think he's ever had his music scored like this and this choice makes sense--good idea, good orchestra.

Get it out there. I think it'll play and sound grand. Get Decca Classics to record it.

This was a life changing album for me so I am excited to hear what this will be! Croz has been on fire for years. Wanted to hit up his show in NJ last year but it was cancelled due to illness.
