I'm sure there are many his height but the first that came to mind, Ric Ocasek, 6'4"

 

Nick Cave, 6'2". Tallest musician that came to mind right now.

Andy Cato from Groove Armada is around the 6ft 7inch mark.

 

Barrett's problem wasn't necessarily the quantity of drugs he took. He was probably small fry compared to many others, some still alive.

His mind, tragically unlike many others, apparently couldn't deal with whatever drugs he did do.

Bowie: a really serious drug problem for several years, came out of it intact and a very happy, well-rounded person by all accounts, and yet another person might end up with a broken mind at 20 after only smoking teenage spliffs. You just can't tell. But it's not as simple as quantity. It's a serious and unavoidable subject really for "historical" music fans, even if you have no interest in or experience of it.

But seriously, I just got a CD by country singer Big Bill Lister, who was billed as "the world's tallest singing cowboy" when he opened for Hank Williams. 6'7".

 

Isn’t Tom Scholz of Boston 6’5”? The only reason that seems to have stuck in my memory is that he’s the same height as me.

The front line of Roxy Music was pretty tall. Bryan Ferry is around 6’1” but both Andy Mackay and Phil Manzanera are an inch or so taller. Sometime Roxy bass player Sal Maida was around 6’4”.

 

Fish, ex Marillion singer. Bumped into him in HMV once. He was so friendly and chatty. And towered over my 5’10” height. I’d guess at him being a good 6’6”.

 

Mat Osman. Suede bassist. 6’5”

 

When it comes to women, Marshall Chapman. Her record label is Tall Girl and Web site is tallgirl.com. Played basketball as a girl, from what I read. AllMusic says she stands 6'1".

 

Yolanda Adams probably is the most famous very tall female musician. She is 6'1".

Montell Jordan is reportedly 6'8", although he might be an inch less. I never noticed that he's a giant.

 

He would have looked funny in AC/DC.

 

"Long Tall" Dexter Gordon was 6' 6"

I saw him play at Ronnie Scott's in 1980 and remember him passing by while I was leaning up at the bar and thinking "Woah!"

 

Thurston Moore and Joey Ramone both an inch taller than me... 6'6"

Gene Simmons no boots = 6'2" w/ boots 6'8"

Corey Parks from Nashville ***** is 6'3" (her brother played in the nba)

 

No idea how tall exactly, but Peter Blegvad (of Slapp Happy, but also a great singer-songwriter) certainly is very tall.

 

I'm not sure how tall he actually is, but Sleepy LaBeef, is quite tall...

I once met Bryan Ferry and he is NOT 6'1' - in fact, I towered over him and I'm not especially tall. I'd put him at 5'6'.
