She hasn't subscribed to it. In the interview with the MoviePass heads I posted, they said that there were people constantly trying to game the system to get money rather than movies.

It is amusing that Sinemia is basically asking people to do the same things that they do to Nigerian 419 scammers.

I know it's a pain but I still can't help thinking that there are going to be people trying to scam the system, and that honest people are going to have to jump through hoops because of them.

That's a lot of life: having to show receipts at some stores before you leave, getting searched at airports, etc.

Not saying that as an excuse for whatever Sinemia is doing, but there are so many nuisances we must endure due to bad apples...

If I was one of those, I would demand my money back. If they didn't issue a refund, I would go back and file a complaint with the bank that issued my card.

  12. Thanks to this thread I am never going to use an app for a movie ticket subscription service! :)

If you have AMC theaters in your area you definitely need to get Stubs A*List. Vickie has been using that like a boss and there's never been any issues.

Second that! For $20/mo. (now $22), and three free movies a week, you can't beat it.

Any AMC theater, any movie, no complication's, no extra fee's.

The have $5, Tuesday's for ALL Stubb's member's (which starts with FREE membership), I decided to go see an extra movie this afternoon and it only costs me $5.

My theater is a Dine-In theater, with table service and comfortable, large leather seats. Movies that have premium's like 3D have an upcharge on the $5 Tuesday deal.

I have the A-List membership and it is great. The best part is no B.S.

Don't let these 3rd party groups scare you from AMC's A-List. It's da bomb, yo! :D

Via a combination AMC Stubs A*List, $5 Tuesdays, discount member pricing at the Gene Siskel Film Center, and cheap tickets at the AMC Galewood 14 my wife Vickie has managed to see more than a hundred films in the theater so far this year.

Great deal if you like that sort of thing. I can only tolerate going to cinema a few times a months. Too many people spoil my viewing pleasure, sometime I get lucky.

Ironic HBO charge more a month, guess folk prefer the quality of their shows over cinemas/films.

    Yes it is.

But, I caution against installing the AMC app on your phone, it is a complete piece of spyware.

I book my movies and manage my subscription via the browser on my laptop.

I bring up a browser in the Stubbs free Wi-Fi at the theater, so that they can scan the screen for the e-ticket.

They can also access your reservation from the reservation number.

Did it ask for location permission?

AMC is so special to graciously provide the public with this app.

Now when you manage your subscription and book your reservations with a browser, you don't have to grant AMC any permissions to do anything on your personal device.

Wow. OK...but it's not like AMC couldn't tell where Vickie is pretty much every single night - at an AMC theater. But I'll go through and turn off all of those permissions. What the hell do they need Bluetooth access for?
