    Direct quote from Goldmine:

“This RSD release is an exact duplicate of those original test pressings. Limited to 8000 copies.”

That’s all the info regarding the content so far.

I said I'd be shocked, and I AM shocked.

8000 people get the spooky organ. The rest of the world gets a needle drop bit torrent.

Not sure what you are asking here.

The original publishing acetates that were used by Dwarf Music in '67 and '68 were Garth's original mono mixes from 1967, which was used to create the first generation of bootlegs like Great White Wonder. Subsequent releases (The Basement Tapes in 1975, Bootleg Series Vol 11 in 2014) were remixes from the mastertapes or stereo dubs of them anyways. But official The Basement Tape RSD release from 2015 used Garth's original mixes from 1967 rather than the 1975 or 2014 remixes.

Is there anything on the test pressing that is already on BOTT, MBMT, or any of the other bootleg series releases? Or is it all "new" other than unofficial bootlegs? I've tried to follow along in this thread, but it's still not clear to me.

Organry spookicus, the rarest of breeds, often seen but never officially held in captivity.

Okay, spooky organ. That's just on unofficial bootlegs, right? And the rest of the test pressing is not represented anywhere else? Sorry, I guess I'm just an idiot, babe, trying to decide whether to get up early on RSD.

Yes, but there is a limited amount of pigskins. And none of them are digital.

The More Blood More Tracks set contains, with a few quibbles, the complete sessions including those on the test pressing. However they are newly mixed for More Blood More Tracks so the exact mix and sound of the test pressing is only on the test pressing. This includes Idiot Wind with that specific organ overdub.

What about those Dylan-Heads who live in a country with no RSD ?

    Ah, I see. :cussing:

Back in August we kind of predicted it (or wished for it), though, on Page 128 of this very thread.. :)

Time to buy that turntable, Ray. :agree:

I don't know, I remember being told "it will never happen"

Thrilled about this news. Though, again, I hate that it's limited edition.

    Exactly my case. And yours.
Anyway, I only buy cd's, so a worldwide release wouldn't change anything.

My last turntable left the building around 2002. A great man once said "Don't look back", so I'll be good with a needledrop.

Doesn't this RSD release indicate that Columbia understood that there was a degree of frustration that essential mixes were missing from BS14 ?
Personally I'm really glad this is finally being released. It's like the missing piece of a jigsaw puzzle. However I do feel that every person who purchased
the "limited" deluxe set should be entitled to a free copy and every person who actually listened to all 6 discs should be given a signed copy.

    Your timing is off
This was preemptive. They didn't schedule a RSD release because of any dissatisfaction with the box, they left off that material intentionally so they could make yet another release out of it.
