Is it a vigilink issue? If you run NoScript in Firefox it usually can’t redirect unless you give that URL permission.

I'm not using NoScript. I do use Firefox Block Site, DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials, uBlock Origin and Video Blocker. Even with everything disabled I still can't get to Pink Floyd Archives. The exact same thing with the Pale Moon browser with no NoScript. The only browser that allows me to see it is Tor with NoScript. :wtf:
YMMV [/ QUOTE]

There's one on discogs at 200 euro ... what does 71A11 mean?
it sounds like the first Japanese?
even more to me than the sound that the collector value

Hi Marco,

Please use this free translator, Collins Free Online Translator , so English is the posted language by you instead of Italian. It will help with understanding one another on this English language site.

I'll let someone else, probably princesskiki, explain what the 71A11 means. If I recall correctly, it is the release date, the Mother source, the machine used and how many releases there are prior to this one, but I'm not a matrix expert.
It might sound like the 1st Japan CD release but unless I'm comparing it to my own I can't be certain.
If I understand correctly, you are speaking about the Japan for USA CBS 2 track pressing, yes? It is rare but I don't know about "collector value". Why, are planning on reselling it?

I'm talking about the Japanese copy for USA. I wanted to know if it's the same pressing so if it sounds the same. and what changes 1a1 with 71A11

As I mentioned, I don't know because I don't own the Japan for USA only the Japan for Japan CD.
Also as I mentioned I'll let @princesskiki or someone else who knows for certain tell you what the matrix numbers mean you're asking about. :)
Come ho detto, non lo so perché il Giappone non è un CD.
Inoltre, come ho detto, lascerò che @princesskiki [/ USER] o qualcun altro che sa per certo che sono i numeri della matrice che stai chiedendo. [/ QUOTE]

you're right I'm sorry I'm not very good in English.

I am not sure what you two are asking me.

CBS/Sony Japan's original catalog number for Wish You Were Here CD was 35DP 4. Therefore, the matrix (which is basically the code of letters and numbers written on or near the hub/center of the disc) of discs manufactured by CBS/Sony Japan will contain "35DP-4" for the original release.

Here is a link to the earliest pressing released in Japan: http://pinkfloydarchives.com/Discog/Japan/CD/WYWH/WYWH1/matrix/1E1.jpg
You will notice that the "matrix" is "35DP-4-1" and "1E1". What that matrix means is: the catalog number of "35DP-4" and the first glass mastering code of "-1" and mother stamper code of "1E1" (i.e., "1E" mother code and "1" stamper code). Back in those days, the CD manufacturer would make a glass master (i.e., mastering) from a 1630 tape (or a similar tape) and the glass master would then have to go through a father/mother stage and a stamper stage. Each stamper would be used to press a number of CD discs (about 5,000 copies).

Let's take "35DP-4-7" with "1A1" as an example, which looks like this: http://pinkfloydarchives.com/Discog/Japan/CD/WYWH/WYWH2/matrix/1A1.jpg
The matrix here means 7th mastering ("-7" -- for whatever reason, CBS/Sony Japan went from "1" to "7" without any intermediate numbers being released for sale) and "1A1" means the first mother and first stamper from that mother.

Your example of "35DP-4" with "71A11" means 7th mastering ("7" from "71A11") and first mother and 11th stamper ("1A11" from "71A11"). Here is what "35DP-4 71A12" (I could not find a photo of "11") looks like: http://pinkfloydarchives.com/Discog/Japan/CD/WYWH/WYWH2/matrix/71A12.jpg
With really few exceptions, the same glass mastering code means the exact same mastering (i.e., almost identical sound subject only to variances resulting from the manufacturing process). In other words, except for variances that can result from the manufacturing process, "35DP-4-7" with "1A1" disc should sound identical to "35DP-4" with "71A11" disc.

For the U.S. market, CBS/Sony Japan (because the U.S. at that time did not have a CD manufacturing plant yet) manufactured Wish You Were Here CD's and the earliest of these had "35DP-4-7" with "1A1" as the matrix: http://pinkfloydarchives.com/Discog/US/CD/WYWH/WYWH2/matrix/71A11.jpg
Although the above disc is exactly the same as the "35DP-4-7" "1A1" disc that was released in Japan, the "design" of the disc (i.e., the design, colors, arrangement of the words, numbers and logos, etc. on the face of the disc) was different because that is what Columbia in the U.S. wanted. In other words, it is analogous to two cars of the exact same model and year except for the color.

One of the slightly later pressing (probably by no more than a couple of few months) is what you are asking about: "35DP-4 71A11". It looks like this: http://pinkfloydarchives.com/Discog/US/CD/WYWH/WYWH2/matrix/71A11.jpg

Except for variances resulting from the manufacturing process, all of the discs mentioned above sound identical to each other.

I hope this helps.

Admiration and respect for your preparation your accuracy your knowing.
I'm shocked
I'd like to know at this point what to look for to have thatsound (35DP 4) spending as little as possible

If you want the 35DP 4 sound, you have no choice but to get a 35DP 4 Japan for Japan disc or an early Japan for US disc with a 35DP 4 matrix (the numbers and letters etched near the plastic hub of the disc). Years ago, sometimes you can get lucky and find one for cheap on eBay but these days, most of the online sellers have found out how much these discs sell for and it is extremely tough to get lucky online now. With diligence and patience, however, you may be able to find a copy for less than $50.

I just bought a 35DP Japan for USA. It cost me £100.:yikes: It is the most expensive CD I have ever bought.
It arrived this morning.
I have many other versions of this CD and so feel I have a good handle on the SQ and its variability.
After listening, I feel the outlay was worth it and finally I feel like I am hearing this album as intended. It just sounds right. Like a 1st Press LP but without the crackle. The depth and reality of the vocals was noticeable and you can just crank, crank the volume. It is beautiful and great art deserves no less.
Later I will sit back with a few glasses of Red and enjoy at my leisure!
This is definitely the version to own.

I suggest searching record shows, used record shops and thrift stores. Online sellers are wise and know the values. I found my mint 35 DP-4 101 +++++ two-track JPN for US at a used book store for $5 a couple of years ago. They are out there!

That is a great find!
I had been searching for 10 years here in the UK. I don't normally pay big bucks for CD's but in the end, wilted!
It is such a good sound, I would not sell my copy.
