I believe so. I assumed it was anyway.

Each season is roughly based on 2-3 of the books so I don’t think the daughter will be written out. The show is still early in the book series. There’s enough for at 10 seasons.

That's good news for me, I love this show. Just binged all 4 seasons the past 2-3 weeks. Glad to see they've signed for seasons 5 & 6.

Just saw this. Connelly has a true crime podcast coming out this month.

  6. The Shield looks pretty good but with a higher bit rate, the shows could have had additional detail and depth. It is a big upgrade over the DVDs however. Since they included two discs with all of the extras, I'd rather just have the commentary tracks and spread out the series a little more and allow for improved definition. It also looks nice uprezzed to 4k.

By the way, I love Bosch.

Shawn Ryan, the creator of The Shield, has a new show called S.W.A.T. on CBS. Has anyone seen this? Worth watching?

The previews make it look pretty bad.

That’s what I thought too. Occasionally there’s a good show on a basic cable channel. Like Aninal Kingdom.

I confess that my love of the books has caused me not to watch the show yet. I'm sure it's really good; I just feel (irrationally) that it will somehow mess up the Bosch universe formed in my mind by reading all the books.

In a word, no! The characters are one dimensional, and I think an unskilled 8th grader wrote the scripts. Seems to be a vanity project for Shemar Moore, who should have stayed on Criminal Minds.

By far the best police procedural on TV/cable these days.

I really didn’t think I would like this show even after my sister and brother-in-law described it to me (and recommended it). Police procedurals do not interest me. But after watching the first 3 episodes of season one I was hooked. Now I am reading the novels used as the basis for each season. Eagerly await season 5, but need to read the book first!

They also recommended “Ozark”, which is tremendous.

I would highly recommend reading the Bosch books in the order they were written rather how the show is based off them, otherwise you’d be going book 3, 8, 12, 4, 5, 1, 7, 15, 6!

I read the first one, “Black Echo”, but then realized the first one and “A Darkness More Than Night” (#7) were the basis of season 3 so I am reading that one now. Will then re-watch season 3 and compare. Not sure I want to read all 20 or so Bosch novels. Plan now is to read the books used for seasons 1-5 and then re-watch/watch those seasons.

Yeah I think any order works for the books. Some information about Harry’s past and his family is revealed in later books but it wouldn’t matter much if you went back to earlier books already knowing those things.
