That's the one. I don't think he gets stuff for free. He's pretty skint and people have bought and sent him stuff, which is nice.
Hey Mazzy, I appreciate you doing a video on the great John Simon, and including his two Warner Bros. solo albums, although we have different favorite songs. I have to give you some grief for not mentioning Gordon Lightfoot's Did She Mention My Name. Simon's awesome string arrangements help make this my favorite Lightfoot album, and my favorite Simon production. Otherwise you're doing a fine job. Looking forward to more.
Hey thanks. I actually didn’t realize he worked on that album. The fun part of doing these is also learning new things. You just educated me.
I'm subscribed to 4 channels. Channel 33RPM (for a casual, non-pretentiousness, enjoyment) BarakaPDub (more of a eclectic collector, with a cool set up. I enjoy his electronic/dance instrumental recommendations) Audiorpheus (equipment, upgrades, head-to-head comparisons) Analog Planet (strictly for the audioporn ) A few honorable mentions: Techmoan (a lot of good and in depth audio and video reviews) VinylEyezz (great starting point for the beginner hobbiest)
I don't think he's been mentioned, but one of my favorites is bigstar1000. He has a really diverse taste in music and even the stuff I'm not interested in is still enough to make me watch. He covers lots of jazz/fusion, funk, new wave, Krautrock and bits of prog among other things. Fred is a French man living in Melbourne, Australia and he has a really low key relaxing vibe that's perfect for late night viewing.
One thing I will say about most of the VC video posters, is that music and records are the primary thing and not really an audiophile emphasis. It is very refreshing after hanging around here most of the time. No bickering about pressings or quarter second glitches. The enjoyment of music seems to always come first!
I watched it. Fun idea! Like your stories and info behind the albums. Not sure I get the title, but what do I know? I’ve liked all your videos. Very entertaining and I always come away with something to check out. You look like you’re having fun doing them.
I have no idea how whack a mole connects either. Except that it’s a random act whenever the mole pops up ??????? So .......
Reminds me of this....which is a great album if you like this kinda stuff. Robert Wyatt from Soft Machine, David Sinclair from Caravan. Canterbury Scene stuff. I’m rambling here...
PoetryOnPlastic is another great vinyl-related YouTube channel and has provided very good information regarding classical music and various vinyl records in his collection. His new video on the beginner's hi-fi guide is an excellent resource, unlike other vinyl-related YouTubers.
One thing I never really paid attention to is the photographer óf the coverart. So its something I would like to learn more about. Keep your video's coming @Mazzy .I enjoy them very much.
