Please, join in to listen and discuss psychadelic music!
As there are similar threads for Jazz, Classical and Prog I figured I would make a thread exclusively for one of my favorite generes, psychadelia.
Now as you may know, the term is quite loosely defined and used for many albums some do not consider to be true psych. But if you have something you want to share that might not strictly be in the psych genre its still okay if you think someone who likes the genre would appreciate it.
Sharing more music is what its all about!

Since I have the privilege of going first, Ill start with putting on my favorite psych album.

The United States of America is probably what I would consider the most fitting album for the genre psych, its experimental, very thought provoking and emotional with all its ugly and beautiful parts.
Do give this timeless classic 2 tries, yes, I hated it on the first listen ;^)

A great one which I also did not appreciate on first listen. Have an original but I also just got a compilation album with the first and second efforts, all cut by Porky. I have yet to compare the sound though.

    Played this obscurity recently:

Very strange and rare piece from Italy, instrumental only and very chaotic.
Only recommended for those who want something really out there.

Easy listened pop type of psych with some deeper parts. Even funny at times. I like it and I think most would at some level. Pretty cheap too!

My favorite psych album. It can be the loud and epic opener Welcome To The Void at one point and next thing you know it's a mysterious, eerie and partially creepy song as in Purple. My favorite song on this LP (and of all time) though would have to be the last track, simply titled Love. It's a beautiful ballad that has a sinister bass line at the beginning, and slowly dissolves into a jazzy, formal yet psychedelic break. The lyrics are honest and Steve does a really great job bringing the song to life. It's a beautifully constructed LP that deserves way more listens then it gets. Original copies in the VG to NM range usually go for $120-$350.

So far , so good . I hope the caliber of "psych" stays at the level of the albums that have been put forth.

Listened to a few albums today.
    Found 3 that I liked:

2 Os Mutantes albums and Space Opera.
I recommend both, especially Mutantes for the prog side of psych fans.
Space Opera really surprised me firstly that it wasnt just instrumental and boring but also that some parts sounded like 90s or even modern day rock, and the good kind.

Will be getting these on wax someday for sure.

    Relistened to Gandalf again today.

This is one classic which has grown a lot on me.
Much more mellow kind of deep psych. Every fan of the genre should try it.
The first 2 tracks and Nature Boy are my favorites I think.
Sadly there are no good vinyl reissues for this album as far as I know. Mostly Rainbo pressings and mine is by BQS (Better Quality Sound) which really doesnt live up to its name.
And originals are of course rare and expensive.
Hopefully Sundazed gets the rights again someday.

Saw this one when scrolling the collection on Discogs today and remembered I needed to update some photos and runout info on the release page, finally learning what that LW runout means (LongWear Plating):

    Jan&Lorraine - Gypsy People

Tried to really bring out all the details and colors from this beutiful cover, inside and out.
And the music really is all over the place in fitting fashion.
A sort of folk singer songwriter type psych effort.
We got heavy experimental type tracks, lighter joke sorts and even a young girl taking over the lyrics for 1 song.
Foolin Myself and Snow Roses really are beautiful tracks however.
You might not like it all, but surely there is a little or lots to like here for psych fans.
