There's Scott Walker the country singer, and Scott Walker... the Scott Walker.

There's Alex Harvey who did some albums for Capitol, and Alex Harvey, the Sensational.

There's Mark-Almond the jazz rockers, and Marc Almond of Soft Cell.

And, over the years, but especially in the age of social media and Facebook postings, I've seen a number of people confuse each of these.

Can anyone think of other examples?

I'd imagine there'll be hundreds of these.

Robert Forster of The Go-Betweens and the actor from Jackie Brown.

James Taylor and The James Taylor Quartet.

There's two Jim Whites - he of Wrong-eyed Jesus and the guy from Dirty Three.

David Jones, the British born Broadway singer who played the Artful Dodger in Oliver!

David Jones, the blonde haired mop top mod R&B singer with The Lower Third and The Mannish Boys.

Not sure what ever happened to either of them.

To which we could add Nik Turner of Hawkwind and Nick Turner of the Lords of the New Church.

These almost demand a separate thread. Remove one letter from someone's name and come up with a different performer entirely. I don't think we've yet heard Ed Zeppelin or Andy Denny, but I'm sure they're out there some place....

Dave Stewart. David L Stewart was half of the Eurythmics, while David A Stewart was in Bruford and many other bands. One of them did the string arrangements for Anathema Falling Deeper, but I'm still not sure which one it was.

Back in the day, their records & CDs were often filed together by mistake in the classical section.

After my last post, I remembered this story about Dick Wagner's solo album. Originally titled "Richard Wagner", it's poor sales were partially blamed on confused record stores who filed it in the classical section with the composer of the same name (spelled the same anyway).
