Do you remember when Tom Jones went country? He had some good tunes.

I won't even pretend I can hold an informed, intelligent conversation when it comes to this genre particularly the early years but since Pop and Rock have always incorporated Country in some of the best songs out there, I definitely have fond feelings for many of these despite not knowing nearly enough about the artists. Like this one from 1976 by that Sunshine guy:

Jonathon Edwards - Ain't Got Time

I resemble those remarks. Because I was a fan I bought the Everlys' 1963 album of country music, and the Rick Nelson double LP of country songs, but it wasn't until much later I learned to really love the songs (most of them, couple of dogs on that 1963 album, and here I am decades later not knowing what a Salty dog is), which made me more open to hearing the originals, and the artists we now call classic country.

Sometimes some good ol bluegrass does the trick. And these are certainly the men to do it.

If you like a bluegrass sound, you might like this. I've posted this Jimbo Whaley song on another bluegrass thread before. Enjoy!

I grew up eating "poke sallet". You have to boil it for hours & hours to get the poison out.
