There are some shows where only one theme song is used, but there are also a lot of shows that use multiple versions as well.

What is your favorite version or versions of a theme song?

Mine is The Cosby Show (Season 5)

I really like the music in this and how it's nicely choreographed.

How about Emerson, Lake, and Palmer doing "Peter Gunn"? Or Adam Clayton And Larry Mullen's verision of the "Mission Impossible Theme"?

Probably season 4 of The Wire. It's not something I'd listen to normally, but it fits that season so well.

Here's a version by Lurrie Bell that wasn't in the tv show. I always expected one day someone would make a mock season 6 title sequence and put it on youtube.

I firmly believe that the best thing about The Dukes of Hazzard was Waylon's song. It just stays with you.

Same with The Love Boat... :D

The second version of "Lost In Space" theme. This video shows both versions,
but I always loved hearing those majestic French horns at the beginning of the second version.
    It just screams BIG ADVENTURE!

Don't care for the more modern EDM styled French horn version done for the movie theme
    which doesn't include those instruments.

Big '60's Avengers theme song fan but I'm finding there were so many tweaks to the melody
and sound quality. This is my favorite version...

This is how bad it was in sound and melody at the beginning of this uniquely
    stylish tv series...

I liked the closing version where the vibes and bells echo
    It swings harder, IMO

    And this (starting at :42)
Hagan throws these wonderful descending minor chords on the strings that float down with the horns up high

The Electric Company (season 2 opening credits):

Similar to season 1, but a bit "wetter" and more rockin' overall, plus it leads with "Hey, you guys!"

I'm not even sure what this is. The original underscores have been posted in different variations over the years, so it's hard to tell the source on this particular master. It's closer to 2nd season than the original in completeness, but it's still got the tinny, un-ballsy mix where the underscore albums were a bit brighter. But I don't hear any of the background fx or artifact noise one hears on the dubs of the eposides posted. I don't think this was released on Disc 4 of the Pic-A-Nic Basket box set, but I don't have that one. Whatever it is, you can tell Curtain had ideas to spare in this composition. So even if it doesn't quite hang together as a fullly-gestated theme song (more like a stack of cues arranged in order, really), it sure gets my 12-year-old-boy blood flowing!

Here's an *unofficial* Bewitched opening with Steve Lawrence singing the theme like it's late night in some '60s Vegas lounge. Lucky Dick York got to kiss Liz Montgomery over and over.

I always preferred the earlier vocal version of the F Troop theme. IIRC the first season was black and white with the vocal theme, second season was in color with the instrumental theme.

A shame they changed the singer for season 9. I like Dionne Warwick, but Love Boat doesn't feel the same without this smeary, cheesy 70s theme used in seasons 1 to 8 :D

I prefer the later Brady Bunch theme song with the actors who play the kids singing it.

I prefer the second Happy Days theme song (the original theme was Bill Haley & The Comets "Rock Around The Clock")
