I have all of the remastered studio albums. I have virtually all of the released live albums. I virtually never listen to the studio albums (routinely listen to live stuff). Do I need this (space for Dead getting limited)?

yes. (especially if you don't have the original mix already (only on vinyl pressed c. 69-71 and one not exactly celebrated vinyl reissue,) or are a fan of their 1969 live sound.)

The original mix is a must. I can’t stand the remix.

I first saw the Dead in 1969. My favorite era for the band.

$12.99 for 44/16 FLAC seems fair to me.

I've wanted this as soon as I heard the 69 mix!

I wish I could just buy the 69 mix though, I already have the 71 one.

I’m a bit disappointed the 8 Track recorded studio tracks aren’t included.

I rarely play this album, couldn't even tell you the difference between the two mixes. At least I'll save space on my shelf for the next Dave's Picks. Pass.

Not sure what you are referring to. The first 8 tracks on Disc One are the 1969 original 8 track studio recordings.

You mean the colored vinyl being the '71 mix? Or the album outtakes?

You don't need any studio Dead albums, except maybe Anthem of the Sun, but if you want the original mix or the live material on this release, you should pick it up.

No. You already have the albums and the orginal mix isn't going to change anything.
The live disc could be cool though. Streaming will do it for me.

    You need more space.

The initial album recording sessions, which were completed using an 8 track tape machine I think at the end of 1968. The Dead abandoned these recordings when the studio received a 16 track machine.
I’ve heard a version of St. Stephen/The Eleven dating from the 8 track recording sessions, it’s pretty cool.
