I read an interview with Nash a couple of years ago (wish I had the exact source) where he stated that despite his feud with Crosby, he would be willing to work with him again if Croz had "the songs" to make it worthy. Well, it's obvious by now that Crosby is the one that has been on a tremendous and prolific creative roll over the past five years while in comparison Nash has released just one (pretty good) album that was quickly ignored. Meanwhile, Neil seems somewhat burned out lately and Stills has been laying low.

At what point will Graham finally admit that Crosby has been writing several terrific songs lately and offer to bury the hatchet? If he won't, I am starting to doubt Nash's supposed "nice guy" facade that he has displayed all these years. Despite his many flaws, Crosby comes off much more sincere and honest to me.

I think since the Nash statement you refer to happened, the rancor between them has grown much, much deeper.

    1. Nash in his autobiography didn't come across as a "nice guy," he came across as your prototypical spoiled, entitled, egomaniacal rock star.

    2. The reason Nash is mad at Crosby is because David got in his face when Nash dumped his wife of 30-something years to run off with a Joni Mitchell lookalike young enough to be his granddaughter, or pretty damn close to it. Just like Neil got mad at Crosby for getting in his face for dumping Pegi to run off with Daryl Hannah. Amazing that Crosby turned out to be such an advocate for monogamy. It would be nice to say "it's all about the music, the other stuff isn't important," but that's not how things are in real life unfortunately. Nash will have to get over that personal snit ... and no, it really wasn't Crosby's business, but if a friend can't get in your face and say "What the %^**%^ are you doing, nimrod," who can ... before he'll work with Crosby again whether Crosby is turning out songs that are as good as the combined works of Bach, Irving Berlin and Bob Dylan.

Nash has come out and said he's mad at David for that and David admitted to getting in Neil's face about Darryl Hannah. It ain't gossip.

A pretty prominent luthier who works on David's guitars and discussed this on another forum I participate in described Nash as being in a Viagra haze over his new cutie, and said Susan his ex-wife really popped him righteously and deservedly hard, took a piece out of his hide, in the divorce settlement.

Agree completely with point #1 above.

As for the last two sentences of #2, I believe Crosby did apologize for his remarks about what Neil did, admitting that he was out of line. And though I obviously don't know the particulars as far his faithfulness during the time, Crosby has been with Jan Dance for several decades, has he not?

Saw these two at the Oceanside Amphitheater next to the pier in very late '80s? Maybe '90? Wonderful concert they took turns praising each other as a person/musician/team member working together as one big happy family. Sad how things change (thinking of the Zappa's as well here).I've been in bands and it's amazing that "Love/"Hate" you can have with someone you make great music with (when the stars align and no "drama" around to " mess" with the creative vibe)This is really sad. That show was an inspiration to me when I went home.

Not to split hairs but what Nash said when asked if its possible that he may be willing to bury the hatchet with Crosby was something along the lines of 'well what am I going to do if he plays me three or four new songs that blow me away?' So I don't think it matters what Crosby's current/recent solo albums are like, since Nash was talking about new unrecorded Crosby songs that he'd want to record/sing/play on (I would assume on a new CN, CSN or CSNY record) badly enough to get over his issues with Crosby.

Amazing that Nash and Young should be so touchy about Crosby's not unreasonable comments about them dumping their wives of many years. Maybe they're unused to having anyone say 'no' to them.

So when these two appeared onstage with David Gilmour in 2015 they likely weren't on the best of terms?

It's a bit deeper than Crosby simply disapproving of the new girlfriends of Nash and Young - I'm not 100% sure of the circumstances with the Neil/Pegi split, but I know that Graham couldn't say enough good things about his wife in his autobiography, and less than two years later, he leaves her after 39 years to be with a girl young enough to be his grand-daughter. Not only that, she's a typical new-generation 60s fangirl, even now still posting photos on her social media accounts of the 1960s music elite with fanciful comments and discussing it as if she was there. She's just taken it one step further and bagged herself a real 1960s pop star. From that angle, I believe David thinks that she's not with Graham for the right reasons. Whatever, it's up to them. But Graham Nash was one of my favourite musicians in the world, but his autobiography soured that somewhat for me, which glossed over this Hollies era (which to me was far more interesting, though many of his memories were inaccurate when cross-referenced with accounts from the rest of the group) and the whole second half of the book pretty much became the David Crosby Show. But then I lost all respect for him when he engaged in a very public spat with David Crosby and at the same time left his wife. I just think he's a huge hypocrite. And his latest album doesn't even stand up close to anything that David Crosby has put out in the last five years.

If the money is there, they'll all kiss and make up. IMHO CSN is one of the most over rated bands of all times.

I don't know about Nash, but with Young, Crosby made very public insults against Daryl Hannah (when she was just Young's girlfriend - not yet wife). I assume he got his opinions about her based on his decades long friendship with Jackson Browne, and took his side/believed his stories about what she was like when they were dating in the 1980s.

    Some comments on various posts:

    1. David may have said he was sorry to Neil; haven't heard anything about Neil accepting it. He doesn't seem like the type.

    2. I doubt the four of them ever get together again because Stills is as deaf as Beethoven and can't sing anymore.

    3. The crack about Crosby and monogamy was based on the David of the early 1970s. My understanding is that for the last 30 years are so he and his wife Jan are as tight as it's possible for two humans to be. Good for them.

    4. There's a photo floating around of Graham and his girlfriend Amy where she's cut her hair absolutely just like Joni back in the late '60s/early '70s. Graham is having an end of life crisis trying to relive those days. And he sounds like a 2-year-old trying to defend it in interviews: "I just want to be happy, why are people upset that I'm trying to be happy."

    5. David claims to be cash poor so he's always begging to get CN or CSN or CSNY back together, or the Byrds back together, and Roger won't do it because he thinks David's a heathen and the others won't do it because David has pissed at least two of them off.

    6. Has this bunch EVER really been non-dysfunctional when they ain't singing?

Again Graham and David have both been quoted about the situation with Susan Nash and Amy Grantham and Pegi Young and Darryl Hannah.

They also are public figures who have no inherent right to privacy.

No inherent right to privacy? That's rich.
I know people will endlessly gossip this junk,
Hell THEY started it, but what's the point?

I think a far better form of entertainment
would to spin one of their disks. Agreed?

Actually Mr's. Young, Nash, and Crosby might take a lesson and learn from the example of Shirley and Charlie Watts. As I understand they are coming up on 55 years of marriage. They look great, don't they?

Full disclosure, I'm a journalist who finds things out about people for a living.

A person who willingly puts himself or herself out in the public eye as a career choice ... choosing to make music to sell for public consumption in hopes of making it certainly qualifies as willingly when he or she makes it ... simply does not have the same right to privacy as a schmoe walking the street, not matter how much they piss and moan and bitch about it. You stuck your neck out to do this, don't whine when everything connected with it isn't pleasant.

And there's this ... I've been doing what I do for more than 40 years now, I take that responsibility dead seriously, much more seriously than my interest in music or anything else for entertainment, and I kind of pride myself about being accurate. I don't go out looking to slander or libel people.

But say I write something wrong about Graham Smedley in Secaucus, N.J. Mr. Smedley could take me to court and sue my ass off for libel and slander, and probably at least get a settlement and probably in this environment would put my future employment in severe jeopardy.

Say then that I write something wrong about Graham Nash. Unless Mr. Nash could prove in court that I deliberately and with malice wrote that wrong thing, and that I knew from the start that what I was writing was wrong, he has zero recourse against me, even if what I wrote was in fact wrong, and his case would be thrown out of court. Because the U.S. Supreme Court in 1964 held that it's in the public interest for that impediment to be placed in the way of public figures suing for libel or slander.

I saw Stills with Judy Collins a little over a year ago. His voice is obviously not what it was in his prime, but it was not terrible by any means. What surprised me more than anything were a couple of fairly painful clams during his guitar solos. But overall, he was fine in that department too. It was an enjoyable show.
