Listening to side 1 of aluminum tunes vinyl reissue ..... all i can say is it has absolutely fulfilled my expectations of how i imagined it would sound on vinyl ...... the cd which i have owned is no slouch either ...... VERY happy !!!

One question .... my copy arrived in a clear PVC cover ..... and that’s it. Nothing shrink wrapped.

Is that normal for this release / these releases ?

Yes, that's how all three of the Switched On reissues were packaged.

I've actually never seen a shrink wrapped PVC wallet.

I have an original 10" pressing of the Music For The Amorphous Body Study Center EP (which contains the first six tracks on AT). It has such a warm, full sound with lots of bass (my 1997 pressing of Dots & Loops sounds the same way). Stereolab was made for vinyl!

All the latest reissues are superb! Top quality packaging too. Going to see them in Toronto in October. Can’t wait!

Rough Trade just emailed me notice that the label can’t fulfill my order for clear vinyl Mars Audiac and Transient from 2/22. Grrrr!!!

Wow that’s super disappointing! But I do believe the clear was a general indie store variant so I would check in-store at your local indie on the day of release and I bet you’ll be able to get copies

That's super irritating. I've had pre-orders for other items from a couple online shops that have been cancelled in the past. Don't take the pre-orders if you can't fulfill them!

I recently got told the same thing by the online shop I pre-ordered mine from.

Apparently, there were only 400 clear copies of each pressed.

I have cancelled my order & bought from a seller on eBay; though I’m anticipating a similar email from them any day now.

It seems orders were taken before the clear copies were allocated. Poor but not the group's fault, ultimately.

Just realised these new editions are out next Friday - that came round quickly.

Good. Finally! I’m not the only person who has noticed this trend with Pitchfork.

Not true. They still care about indie rock etc but with rap, it’s mainly mediocre trap. Like, seriously, they gave Cardi B a higher score than KIDS SEE GHOSTS, which mostly invalidates their rap reviews IMO.

My order page at the Stereolab store says nothing about the orders for the obi sets being shipped or anything and no email either. They'll either all show up on or doorsteps unannounced tomorrow (this happened to me for some Felt LPs on release day from Cherry Red) or we're in for a fun wait!
