selection not so great this year, picked up only 2 lps

on to the ps audio room
horribly warm and veiled sound from their proto speakers ...

on to the primaluna / goldenear speakers room featuring the new triton 1R
sound is huge and bold, deep bass from the powered integrated subs. however overall the sound is flat and harsh in the precious midrange.., so glad i passed on the speakers...

the vana room was sounding nice and clear featuring moon amplification and audip physic speakers. a sound for sore ears after the bombast in the mcintosh and wilson audio rooms..,
the van allstine gear also sounded nice and frank’s electronics look much better in person. possibly held back by the choice in speakers though

Tough to judge bad sound in a show/hotel room. If it sounds good, though, it's probably not luck.

the atc system has extraordinary transparency, very monitor like, however coherence, imaging was not the best and they would be too fatiguing for me. sorry i call em as i hear em...

very bizarre sering new gear made by “western electric”. the gauder akustic speakers sounded ok definitely a ringing in their ceramic drivers, western electric needs an industrial designer pronto

nice conversation with my friend geoff poor of glenn poors audio who introduced me to ron sutherland. he was genuinely appreciative that i own and love his phono preamplifier. a truly nice gentleman. all the best to him and geoff.
listening to the totl luxman class A amp sounding super smooth driving the harbeth 30.2 with grace and authority

how important is the recording? listening to a system comprised of marten speakers snd zesto andro amplification dod not make the strained chorus in Babylon sisters sound any less noticeable

just listened to the single driver voxativ zeth tower speakers and wow, so naturally detailed and life like again i can see why people love the single driver designs. they were sold as a system with the preamp that employs DSP to balance the frequency range but wow what a sound especially on well recorded female vocals. impressive!!!

very good transparent sound coming from some gingko audio stand mount monitors at a reasonable price point. driven by a triode corp of japan tube integrated. these amps are the resl deal and should be much more popular in the us.

i have to say the klipsch forte iii sounded great! a very popular room too. high energy and big bold presence yet surprisingly smooth. great for classical music and non audiophile rock. the enclosure colors the sound and they are not audiophile speakers but i enjoyed the heck out of them

I would have loved to get the L590axii.. just too much dough for me.. in a few years, when I get a bigger room to fill, I can see a 590/Cornwall combo working very nicely. For now I'll continue to LOVE my L550axii.
