funny you mention that. i empathize.

at night i walk down lonely street, sometimes 'til break of dawn, i'm tracin' back my steps in time, and wonderin' what went wrong. all she left was pain and records, now i play her favorite songs. she was mine before you met her, and it's time that i walk on.

    down a nowhere road. ha.

My photo taken in December 2012 at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum shows the rear of the famous silver dollar car decorated by Nudie, and in the background, notice the two enclosed cases containing guitars, famous guitars, on the left the Martin D-28 owned by Hank Williams, and on the right the Gibson L-5 archtop owned by Mother Maybelle Carter. The Gibson guitar was bought for $275 in 1929 in Kingsport, Tennessee... about 30 miles from where I type this note... and was valued at $575,000 in 2004. Lots of history.

And you'd turn your head, if you did
She'll never know how much you loved me
Or what kind of love we had...

I bet she knows, when I'm on your mind
I bet she sees it in your eyes
What's in your heart you can not hide
I bet she knows, when I'm on your mind."

    Hey @ando here .
Late to this thread, so I'll just jump in with this amazing and little known ep by Kelly Willis. Released as a promo item to coincide
with "Fading Fast" being on the Boys soundtrack, it's one of the best things she's done, and that's saying something. Backing by Jay Farrar and most of Son Volt, plus Gary Louris on one track, and 16 Horsepower on the 4th track.

Country legend Tony Booth was a protege of Buck Owens and was a member of Buck Owens' All American Show in addition to working as a regular performer on Buck Owens' Ranch Party TV show. Tony was signed to Capitol Records and recorded under Buck Owens.

Tony Booth with Don Rich and The Buckaroos performing 'The Key's In The Mailbox' live on Hee-Haw. Many of these players also appeared on Tony's studio albums, which were recorded at Buck Owens' studio in Bakersfield.

As the late Buck Owens once noted, “one of the good things that happened in 1970 was that I finally had my studio up and running in Bakersfield. If I was in the mood to record, I’d just call the guys and tell ’em when to be there. I didn’t have to deal with having to find out when Capitol’s studio would be available anymore, or go to the trouble of driving down to L.A. every time we were going to record, or knowing that every minute I was recording at Capitol it was costing me money. It was still costing me money to record at my own studio, of course, but at least I wasn’t billing myself at an hourly rate that would be charged against my record royalties like Capitol had done to me all those years.”
