I pulled the trigger on the standard version and also bought a t-shirt. Took a while bouncing around in my head which one to choose. I couldn't bring myself to spend an extra $125 for essentially just a book of posters, although it was tempting. Anyway, I'm PSYCHED for this book!
Nah, probably the least thing they're known for. More known for busting their ass with endless tours living homeless for many of them constantly on the road - mind-blowing, mind-expanding wild live shows.
I always believed this song title is an inside joke. The "two-parter" song with two different song parts(instrumental intro and separate riff with the lyrics) was just renamed from a working title of the two-parter to "to parter". Or am I being anal.
This is the lineup I saw the first time I saw them. At Rockitz in Richmond, VA in late November 87 or 88. Still ranks as one of the most mind blowing shows I have ever seen. I have seen them 4 or 5 more times and they all paled in comparison. My favorite albums are Locust, Hairway, and Double Live.
The guitarist said the project was aborted because there singer lost interest. Whatever they worked on will wind up on Paul Leary's solo project as I understood.
Can anyone comment on the sound quality of the 2013 reissue of Locust Abortion Technician mastered by John Golden? Wondering if it’s worth picking up or if I should try and track down an original pressing.
I finally heard the Cocky Bitches album Mercy. This sounds like a real winner to me, just heard it once, immediately ordered the vinyl. Can't wait to spin it again. Some heavy weird stuff, just like i was hoping for.
I'm a fan - have been from the start. Had great fun seeing them live. Played Locust Abortion Technician so much on release - and it's still on heavy rotation even now. Played them to my son, in part of my journey to widen his tastes. Great band.
Wasn't Locust Abortion Technician going to get a fresh remaster? Did that happen and I just missed it?
