Well it was a transition album as both Brian Jones and Mick Taylor appear in it.

True John. But the thing about Bleed I love is that Keith did all the heavy lifting on this one! He never did again as he was not required to again. Great guitar playing by Keith all over this one!

Yeah, Keith really delivered the goods in '68/'69 before Mick Taylor's arrival. A great artistic and creative period for Mr. Richards.

It really would be awesome (especially since this is the last of the great 60's albums on Abkco) to add bonus tracks - they could kind of justify adding the stuff leftover from Beggars too since the period is so close. I think it would be a massive success if done right and say what you want about Abkco and Mick - they like to make money LOL

The bonus tracks would have to be on a different disc per the contract.

It hasn’t been about money for a long time, obviously. If that was all there was to it, The Stones had allowed ABKCO to release outtakes on the Satanic and Beggars reissues. Eventually, they didn’t. In this case, The Stones have the veto over archival material and something tells me it’s their little revenge over what happend with Allen Klein, half a century ago...

Thats what makes it so unique, it’s Keith’s shining moment. Despite the fact i wish Brian was still there on guitar. Or more Mick T in Brian’s absence.

Fantastic record from start to finish. Regarding some earlier comments about Midnight Rambler - I wish it was longer!

And no one has mentioned Monkey Man yet...its great!

My favorite Stones album by far. Which is weird considering the circumstances, 1st album without Brian Jones (think he was sacked during the sessions?), 1st album with new lead guitarist Mick Taylor who barely plays on it all but the way Keef plays on it who needs another guitarist?!

I agree. Monkey Man is a raw rocker that is underappreciated.

I’m Going Down is a Sticky Fingers era outtake, probably recorded when they were still under Abkco’s contract.

There is some debate about that depending upon which sessionography you use.

Felix Aaepli has it listed as 1970 at Sticky Fingers sessions.

However, Nico's site says an early version without the sax overdubs was started at the Let It Bleed sessions.

Martin Elliott's book has it starting at the Let It Bleed sessions.

It is also worth noting the Martin Elliotts book says the original acetate for Let It Bleed contained both Sister Morphine and Loving Cup.

It omitted the following tracks from the official album; Country Honk, Live With Me and You Can't Always Get What You Want.

    ???? huh?
That's one of the Stones' best recordings !!
Matter of taste, of course :)

I love Gimme Shelter, Love In Vain,
Midnight Rambler, and You Got The Silver.

Monkey Man is great but Jagger over-does
it on the vocal a bit, toward the
end. I think that is the song that needed
    to be shortened a bit.

I actually dislike the rest of the album.
I'd probably love the whole thing if every
song beside those I just mentioned had
been sung by Keith and not Mick.

The Rolling Stones’ groundbreaking multi-platinum selling album Let It Bleed was released in late 1969, charting at #1 in the UK and #3 in the US. The Rolling Stones, at this point already a critically and commercially dominant force, composed and recorded their eighth long player (tenth for the U.S.) amidst both geopolitical and personal turmoil. The second of four Rolling Stones albums made with producer Jimmy Miller (Traffic, Blind Faith), Let It Bleed perfectly captures the ominous spirit of the times with “Gimme Shelter,” the opening track. The 2019 remaster has been engineered by eleven-time Grammy®-winning mastering engineer Bob Ludwig. Let It Bleed (50th Anniversary Limited Deluxe Edition) includes the remastered album in Stereo and Mono on both vinyl and Hybrid SACD, and a reproduction of the 1969 7” mono single of “Honky Tonk Women”/ ”You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” in a picture sleeve. The box set also comes with three 12” x 12” hand-numbered replica-signed lithographs printed on embossed archival paper, a full-color 23” x 23” poster with restored art from the original 1969 Decca Records package, and an 80 page hardcover book with never-before-seen photos by the band’s tour photographer Ethan Russell and an essay by journalist David Fricke.

This one looks better comparing with Beggar's Banquet

I can do without hearing Country Honk ever again. The rest is fine. I just made my own version and replaced it with the single. Job done!
