It’s not a new musical direction. The pop stuff started in 2009 with WOAD.

A recording engineer friend of mine today said it reminded him of “I’d Like to Make It With You” by Bread. (He wasn’t making a dig. He liked it).

I disagree. Tomorrow Never Knows is pleasant but unremarkable. This is way better.

i'm sorry, you hadn't read the puff piece. the subtext with that assertion.

a "new musical direction". Bruce Springsteen Finds A New Sound By Looking To The Past

I call it total show biz BS. i would much rather hear david gates.

I love wiggle wiggle, i was privileged to be in Penn State Univ observing one of its first ever airings.
wiggle wiggle like a big fat snake. Bruce would never write such a thing.
I love under the red sky in a big way. i listen to it all the time.

I listened to the new song on headphones tonight. Very nice brushwork by Matt Chamberlain. Great drummer.

Springsteen is having creativity issues. He's been having them for a long time.
It pains him, troubles him, costs him dearly. He suffers over it.
He's more frustrated by it than all his discontent fans combined, I'm sure.
It's not a matter of choice.
Have no doubt he's doing the best he can.

The ONLY chart he'll get on?? Six of his last seven albums have gone to #1 (We Shall Overcome reached #3) and this is his first release in five years. I'm reasonably sure that his fans that have been waiting so long for any new Bruce will push this one either to #1 or pretty damn close.

What a beautiful new Song by Bruce.

It is obviously that he doesn’t like to heat the political discussions these days with his new album, which is overheated. We all need a bit to calm down.
Good move. People need to come together again.

Not many would write “Wiggle Wiggle Wiggle like a bowl of soup” because soup doesn’t wiggle. I’m a long standing Dylan fan but it’s a terrible song. I even started a thread about it.

The line is one of the "love and theft" lines he got from some older recording, I believe. I think it's quite funny.

Crikey! He stole it and it’s rubbish! I’d have thunk if he was gonna nick lines then he would take good ones. It makes me cringe. The only thing he’s recorded that’s more of an embarrassment is “They Killed Him” but Kristofferson wrote that. It’s the kiddy chorus that does it for me. It actually makes me blush if I hear it. Back to Bruce now.....

Can’t recall an occasion but it’s where the market is at I guess. Think there’s another coloured variant on the official store.

And now he’s writing about it. Song was a total yawnfest. But I’m a live E Street fan so this doesn’t hit my “sweet spot”
