It also has his single greatest recording - which some days I think is the greatest record ever made - in the solo piano demo of “Feel Like Going Home”

Love Bruce, really like the way he sounds at that style of music. What a great voice to have when you´re 70.

Im SO GLAD that he´s not releasing new albums with songs like “feat. Shawn Mendes”, “feat. Christina Aguilera”.

Yes Mick, I´m talking to you.

If you can believe it, I got to see Charlie Rich perform that song live at the piano in 1975, where he was headlining in the same showroom that Elvis was to open the following night at the Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas. My father had tipped the maitre'd 40 bucks, so we got seated in one of the first tier booths right next to his beautiful and talented songwriting wife, Margaret Ann. Playmate of the Year Barbie Benton (Hugh Hefner's girlfriend at the time) opened the show for Charlie. She almost sat on my brother's lap and he just about fell out of the booth. Charlie was one of the shyest and most introverted singers I have ever seen. He was also probably the most gifted musician I have ever seen. A truly fantastic pianist and his voice was spectacular. We were suppose to see Elvis the next night, but that is a story for another day.

As someone who has dysthymic depression and anxiety disorder, this song hit close to home. When I listen to the expansive production on it, I can imagine myself looking up into the sky and watching clouds form, change shape and then disperse all the while knowing what I know about myself as the song plays in my mind. I've been wanting for Bruce to tackle expansive production values and arrangements like this for years. When I listen to this, I go back to a somewhat related thing I've told all of you before. RE: Production & Arrangements By Bruce-I still consider it to be both a tragedy and a travesty that Bruce has not worked with Daniel Lanois. I want Bruce to take greater risks. I'm about as pro-E-Street Band as anybody on the planet. But if this song is any indicator of the full album, then I'm not going to be afraid to possibly say that this may be the album I've waited for ever since Tunnel Of Love. This is Bruce undergoing an evolution of the type that I'm very happy with.

First Springsteen song that has moved me in, what, 25 years? A good sign. Hoping against hope that this is that one great final album I've been dreaming of for a long time.

Listening to Charlie Rich music can be addictive and he often confessed to really liking to write and record sad songs, despite being happily married to Margaret Ann, his childhood sweetheart, all his life. Here is one of my very favorite tear jerkers that he ever wrote, and you may also appreciate his stellar piano playing on it as well. Charlie himself once said that "happy songs just do not say anything to me."

    "Hello Sunshine":

It sounds timeless, like it’s always been there. Which, in my book, signals a possible classic. I think this album is going to be a pearl.

It helps that I actually like the vocal on this--not always the case with Bruce--it doesn't sound mannered; and, as others have pointed out, there's a wonderful sense of space that lets the song breathe.

I don’t usually purposely seek out colored vinyl, but I like that darker blue vinyl from the official store. Not sure if I’m going to pay $10 more from it over the Amazon black vinyl though.

Really? I mean, I liked the song, but you were moved by "Hello Sunshine" and not moved by "Long Walk Home", Land of Hope And Dreams", "You're Missing", or "Lonesome Day"?

I ordered the JPC version, just hoping it doesn't have that tacky UNITED label on it. Otherwise one of the most beautiful album covers I've seen in a long time.

Um, does that label on those colored variants indicate it's being pressed at United? I hope not...
